Axis 24.1 mods - solar, radio, security cameras, catalytic heater

Link to an iphone video with my 2018 Axis 24.1 mods:
https://youtu.be/x_PjAGheBnM I was unable to upload directly to this site.

$6,236 total solar cost:
Victron Multiplus 12/2000/80-50 - $1,150
Smartsolar 100/30 - $226
Monitors: battery, MPPT, Inverter - $500
breakers & wire & lugs - $200
four HQST 100w Mono panels - $460
four 100Ah BattleBorn lithium batteries - $3,700

Lithiums do not like freezing weather, so this is all under the bed and behind insulation from the back & sides. I removed the converter because the lithiums stay charged with the solar panels most of the time. Otherwise, the generator can charge the lithiums very quickly. The exterior bar-b-que gas line from the back was rerouted (without disconnecting from the main gas manifold) up next to another gas line under the kitchen sink, behind the microwave, and into the converter space. I reattached the quick gas disconnect and use this for a catalytic heater on stands, as I plan to visit 30+ ski resorts this winter using my Ikon ski pass.

I used these parallel connectors from amazon:

I used these parallel connectors from amazon to go into the existing Thor solar pre-wiring, which looks like 10 gauge: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B4ZM8Y8/

I just checked it out. Thats one nice setup. Thanks for sharing.

I really like your propane heater setup...... the factory system is way to loud for me to sleep at night so unless im at a CG where I can use my electric heater I dont sleep very well. I turn the thermostate down low at night so it dont kick on so much (and preheat the RV before we go to bed).

What's the advantage of solar on a vehicle with an engine alternator and a generator you use when the new solar is inadequate and a shore power connection?

Quiet, passive, not stinky. Also keeps your batteries charged when your not in it.
