2016 Thor Axis 25.1 Upgrades
I have done quite a bit to upgrade our 25.1 to make it better suit our family. I have a fairly long write up for each of the items with pictures if anyone would like additional info, but to keep this fairly short I'll just list them here:
Exterior Upgrades:
Added 2 Maxxair II and 1 Maxxair vent covers
Added 2 7" LED backup lights
Added a 25" LED light bar in the front grill
Added 2 6,000# Stabilizing Scissor Jacks to the rear of the coach
Added a Safe-T-Plus steering control
Added an extended stay "T" to the propane system
Driver's compartment Upgrades:
Added an OBD-II Bluetooth adapter connected to a 7" Amazon kindle (dash mounted)for speed and RPM
Added 3 dual USB power outlets
Added a magnetic phone mount
Added a 8"x14" rear view mirror to keep an eye on the kids
Center Console Upgrades:
Built a custom console located below the radio with a shelf, 2 cup holders and a large drawer for maps...
Added a 11" monitor above the radio for a full time backup camera (turn signal cameras are still tied to the radio.)
Added 2 4" speakers built into a little pod that hangs from the overhead.
Passenger Compartment Upgrades:
Raised the cup holder and added an extension to the rear with 2 small plastic trays to hold phone, glasses...
Build a 4" tall 6" wide and 16" long foot stool with a 2" memory foam top covered in a soft matching brown vinyl that slides up under the dash when not in use
Front TV Upgrades:
Added a Full Motion Swivel Articulating mount
Added a remote headphone amplifier for the kid's headphones
Added a 600W Pure Sine Wave Inverter to power the TV, Game System, and Blue ray Player.
Added a Winegard RV-WING Wingman White UHF Booster TV Antenna
Dinette Upgrades:
Added a full width and length drawer to the forward bench
Added a door to the aft bench for access
Upgraded the seat belts to shoulder harnesses for the kids.
Built a padded removable "wall" to the end of the bench so my son has something to lean/sleep on while buckled in.
Added 2 cup holders to the end of the table
Kitchen:
Added an under cabinet paper towel holder
Added a key holder (got the idea from another member of this site, thank you) to the cabinet in the entryway.
Added a cross bar to the screen door
Added 4 small LED night lights
Bathroom
Added a curtain that separates the kitchen from the back of the coach
Added a Two Chamber Soap and Shower Dispenser
Other upgrades:
Installed a hardwired EMS between the transfer switch and the coach power system
Sorry for the long post. If anyone would like more info please let me know and I can add it here. I have pictures, where I bought everything with prices.

Are you going to add some front ones too? We added the rears and ended up adding fronts as well since the rears didn't seem to remove the front shake (from someone in the bunk, or walking around in the kitchen).
That is quite the list! I usually keep it to 1-3 mods/year (although if I think about it I bet my list would be longer than I'm thinking LOL).

I have thought about it, but haven't found a place that i really liked for mounting and access? What did you end up doing? If you don't mind me asking?
Just from reading your posts 1-3 a year would mean you have had your RV for about 25 years lol

New center console
Attached is a few pictures of the center console I made. In addition to the added functionality it allowed me to drape a layer of MLV over the fiberglass doghouse to further my noise abatement efforts.
sorry if this is screwed up I have never tried to post a picture.

Were these welded to chassis or bolted?

If you are talking about the stabilizing jacks I installed, I bolted mine to a 1/4" steel plate and then bolted that to the frame.

Thank you very much, I have to admit this was my 2nd try, the first one was ok but left a lot to be desired.

Bench seat modification
We are getting ready for a long road trip with the kids and we were concerned that my son (7 years old) really didn't have anywhere to lean when he got tired, so I made him a removable cushion to lean on.

Has anyone with a 25.2 added a hose storage similar to the one JamieGeek did for
his 24.1?
I don't know how to link to his post, but he mounted a 4x4 PVC fence post underneath to store the hose!
I'm curious to know if that would mount the same on the 25.2 .

this is a great use of the center space. I wish Thor would have made the work table for the passengers side into a small compartment storage for maps and other extra travel items, but this is a good alternative.
Thanks for sharing

Richard,
Under the access panel located above the gauge cluster is a small silver box that basically controls and powers the cameras. This box then sends the camera signal to the radio (stock arrangement). I contacted the manufacture and purchased an adapter cable ( RCA5-AM 5 Pin Male to RCA Male Adapter ( www.rearviewsafety.com)) This allowed me to remove the rear view camera from the silver box and power it directly. I wired it through a switch so I can turn the camera and the monitor on and off anytime with a single switch. The monitor is a fold up overhead video monitor made for the rear of an SUV for kids movies which I had on hand and no longer used (it is like 10 years old). I ended up running the plastic mounting plate through my table saw to get it small enough to rest in the existing tray above the radio. You can buy better monitors now a days on Amazon for cheap.
Hope this answers your questions, if not I will add more details.
Doug

For me it was more about putting the information i needed in a place that I an quickly and clearly access it without having to take my eyes off the road for longer then necessary. It was far more distracting to have to look around the steering wheel at the stock gauges and the rear view monitor acts like a normal rear view mirror in a car.

so you bypassed the radios monitor and only use the large one on your dash and does it get triggered by reverse or turn signals or is it always on
