2016 Thor Hurricane 35C Front Shocks
Looking for recommendations for the best front shocks to stop the jarring from rough roads!
We made a trip to New England from Florida and the jarring on I 95 broke the door shelf in the refrigerator and a drawer retainer, not mention the beating on your body.
We run about 65 mph and some of the roads really jar the coach---and the passengers!
It is a serious enough problem that we are considering trading.
It handles great with the steering stabilizer and rear sumo springs.
Tire pressure is 100 pounds. I haven't been able to get corner weights yet, but I will when I find a scale that does the individual wheel weight instead of just axles and gross weight.

How does 100 PSI compare to the recommended pressure on your yellow sticker?

Five pounds more than sticker.
They were inflated to 100 when got it from the dealer so I have kept it there. About 10% lower than max pressure.
Would 5 pounds make much difference in the rough ride?

Possibly - that's where your actual weight kicks in.
The sticker is meant for GVWR - the maximum weight of the rig.
If you are significantly below that weight, the sticker pressure plus 5 PSI will definitely make for a harsher ride.
Take the MH to a scale and see what your axle weights are and go by that until you get a 4 corner weigh.

My coach had the tires set at 100 psi from the dealer and that was 20 pounds over required pressure based on weight of coach. The correct pressures based on weight improved the ride and handling. Front sumos eliminated most of the "harshness" from all but the worst roads.

Windsport 35m here, we took a beating yesterday going up Hwy 69 Oklahoma up to Durant.
Clothes hanger pole bracket came off and front cabinet mounted to loft jarred all front screws loose. Imagine if that came down???
I have stabilizer and did CHF and apart from the rough patch I like how it handles.
I know Bilstein has front shocks because ordered one by mistake but it honestly did not look very robust.
Been looking at sumos for front but the price I’m not sure...

I installed air lifts front and rear with an onboard compressor. 25psi in front bags and 35 in rear really made a difference in ride and handling. Also on a 35c.
Went from a school bus to a van.

I do believe your issue is too high air pressure.
You are lucky you haven’t had a tire blowout.
My ace 29.3 is recommended to have 82 psi cold.
On a long trip especially in summer the tires will gain 5 psi due to the temperatures.

Would you give me the make and type of shocks your talking about. I have a Windsport 29m with sumos on the front and a Roadmaster rear stablizer and it handles great but it sure does beat you to death so I'm thinking shocks now!! Bob Trice

My front tire gain 17 psi (80-97 psi) on a 100 degree day (77 degrees cold to 100 F hot) @ 60 mph. Rear inside will gain 23 psi (85-108 psi) and the rear outside will gain 19 psi (85-104 psi). That is based on 4 years with a 18,000 lb chassis with 245/70-19.5 tires. The tires in sun will heat the tires slightly about 2 psi difference (sunny side vs shady side). 82 psi on the door sticker.

That’s about what mine do too. It does seem like a lot but it doesn’t seem to hurt anything.

If you were talking to me, they are air bags, not shocks. Work like sumo springs except they are adjustable to road conditions and crosswinds.

Do you still have the OEM Michelin tires?
If you do it's time to start planning to replace them. With "most" motorhomes tire replacement is based on age not miles!
Your 2016 is built on a 2015 chassis which may have been built in 2014 so the tires are 5 or 6 yrs old.
Try 90psi, 5 below the suggested max pressure, you'll like it be ready to drop another 5. We ran 85/80 on our class a.

I have a 2016 Hurricane 35C no sumo spring just did the cheap handling fix and that's it. Drove to PA turnpike from CT several times and its terrible no matter what you drive otherwise no real issues, back and forth to TX we are in CO now and taken it up the continental divide no issues so far little over 20k miles on it so we don't drive too much
