2018 35SD Dinette is Crap

Is it just us or are the new Thor dinettes just plain uncomfortable? The straight backs and cheep foam cushions are truly a pain in the a$$ and reaching the upper storage cabinets impossible. We are thinking of changing it out any ideas?

So what you're saying is you didn't check it out before you bought it? Kind of hard to complain about it after you bought it and sit at the table AFTER you plunked your money down.

No we didn’t, couldn’t find one to look at. My bad, trusted Thor, thought you couldn’t screw up a dinette. Will be changing it out soon...

If your current "john" is also a gravity setup, should be no major issues to change out..If a vacuum or a maceration style then a whole different can of stinky worms..

The engine is great just came back from California and it had power to spare over mountains and in the heavy traffic. We changed out the plastic seat on the toilet and it made a world of difference. Also put a cover on the couch so it’s more comfortable. Couldn’t live with the dinette so we ordered a new one with slanted backs. Crossing our fingers that it works out.

Yes, It’s easer to work on fixing problems or other issues when you have instant access to your rig. I’ll post some upgrades and improvements this weekend.

Good question...I'm still trying to figure mine out. They just swing around like a propeller.

No they just move up and down. However I had one fall off once when I pulled it too far back and it took some tinkering to get it back in position.

Yes mine did that also, I needed to push in hard to get the small pin engaged in the slot.

I'll try that. Have appointment with Peach State Ford after this next 10 day run but may not need to take her in. Where did you purchase the dinette replacement or was it just the seating cushions you replaced? Our previous TT had twin recliners directly across from TV with sofa at rear. It was nice and I miss it but the benefits of the MH FAR OUTWEIGH the labor of the TT. Sitting up front watching TV requires getting used to.

We ordered it at rvhardwood.com it was a Brad and Hall Dinette. Probably a bit too expensive but it will be great to sit at the table for longer with out pain in the lower back. I’ll post some pictures after we get it installed.
