2018 outlaw 29J couch upgrade

Hi all, I'm curious if anyone has ever swapped the 57' couch for a recliner. And if its complicated

Thanks

I had a 2018 Outlaw 29H but I swapped out the Jack-Knife sofa with the RecPro Charles Wall Hugger Recliners.. The recliners were much more comfortable and it was not difficult to do.

Here is a picture of the recliners installed.......

Those recliners look great! I assume that you tinkered around with the accommodations in the garage as well?

That was next on the list before we traded it in on the Magnitude. We were looking at several different options for making a more comfortable bed that was stowable in the garage.

We were working in another direction: trying to find a more comfortable bed for that spot...
...And then we bought a different RV as well.

We have been looking at the products from Lambright. We're considering swapping out a not-needed bed for some recliners now!
(It's always something...)

Did you have any tanks under the couch you took out

Our sofa was on the slide-out on the driver's side of the coach. I used the aluminum frame of the slide-out for mounting so as not to worry about the slide movement or anything under the slide.

They changed the floor plan from the 29H to the 29J. On my 29H it would be the 70" sofa on the 29J that I replaced. That would be on your slide-out as well.

The RecPro Charles 70" Wall-Huggers would probably work but you will want to measure carefully.

Can you measure before removing the sofa?
or, is a measurement between the wall piece on the right, and the cabinet sufficient?

You will have a couple measurements. You need to measure the distance from side to side and then the depth of your slide floor. You need about 3” from the wall to fully open the recliners.

Mine fit width-wise with no problem. The front part of the recliner did hang over the slide floor a couple inches but it was not an issue for me and I was able to fabricate some metal straps to mount them to the slide aluminum frame.

My biggest concern is getting the pull out sofa out and the two piece recliner in the narrow door. Does the furniture break down to get it thru the door?

The RecPro recliner loveseat will fit through an RV door with a minimum width of 22" according to a staff member in the questions area of their website for the 70" Charles recliner loveseat (their shorter recliner is the same size for installing). My door (same as Judges was on his Outlaw) is about 22" wide and he got it in. Your jackknife/pullout will go through the door, it was installed through the door (and Judge got his out that way)

I'm planning on the recliner upgrade too in my 29H, either a 'Davor Brown' power recliner loveseat that's available at Living Spaces furniture store (for almost half the price of a RecPro) that might fit through the door, or the 67" RecPro like Judge installed in his. I have to go measure the one available at Living Spaces that's still in pieces at the warehouse (to see if it will fit through the door), I already measured the space where my jackknife is and it would just fit.

The RecPro recliners are modular and fit through the door with just minor maneuvering. Our Jack-Knife sofa came apart in several pieces and fit through the door with no issue.

We have a Thor Outlaw, And those jack-knifes in the garage are terrible to sleep on. We took them out and now have folding bed frame with like a Casper mattress. So much better.

that looks pretty cool. I was thinking about replacing my dinette with recliners like that. I have a 2018 outlaw 37rb class A and we'd like to replace the dinette with recliners

We took ours out too, but because we wanted more room, side to side inside the garage.
Coleman has a queen size fold out frame, with an attached zipper compartment that you insert an air mattress.
Fairly easy to set up, more time consuming than anything, inflate easiest with a shop vac we keep with us.
Price you pay for the toys you want to bring.

Now we want to change out the sofa with a pair of recliners.
