Cup holder upgrade.

From this.

to this.

Less than 10 bucks.

Ok so here is how it works. the outside diameter of the 3 inch sewer pipe coupling is 3 1/2" which is the exact size to fit inside the cup holder with the rubber bumpers still in place. Use a fine grit sand paper or scrub pad to clean and rough up the surfaces of the fitting and paint with the plastic approved paint. Once it is dry cut the velcro into strips and attach it to the coupling and place the matching side inside the cup holder so it lines up with the pieces you put on the coupling. take a piece of parchment paper/waxpaper or printer paper and wrap the coupling covering up the velcro and slide it inside the cup holder. Once you have it installed and lined up slide the paper out and this will allow the velcro to contact hence holding the coupling in the cup holder and extending it up I have tried a 24oz trevis cup and it fits snugly and securely. Teh advantage to using the sewer coupling is that it is thin walled and dosent take up much space in the inside leaving you room for your beverage. It may not fit everything but just like a car cup holder it will hold drinks much better than the original. Total cost was 10.87$ with tax. I actually done it a bit cheaper as I already had the velcro and paint from another project.

Planning to insulate the engine cover this weekend with Dynamat under hood liner. Stay tuned for the results. Also looking at the possibility of installing a 22 led bar in the grill.

Would like to see a pic of the led bar when you get it installed and also some info on it. You have some nice upgrades and thanks for posting.
Thanks.

Great. I didn't see this thread before. I did see your Aim's videos on Youtube.

Question on the inverter install. I know you said you have it downstream of the disconnect, but exactly where. Did you hook on to lugs of the disconnect itself or elsewhere?

Also, which outlets is the inverter powering? I know you said the two inside TVs plus a few outlets. Are they the bed outlets by any chance?

As we will take delivery of our '18 .3 in a month or two (it was already on order by dealer, but we don't have a delivery date), I'm going to be following this thread and your youtube channel with great interest.

On the inverter connection I used the open 12v lug on the circuit board and used the grounding bar thor installed that houses all the grounds. The receptacles it powers are the front tv bed tv both receptacles at the bed and both receptacles in the upper cabinets where the HDMI cables are run by the factory. The bonus is it runs the fridge so if you run out if gas you can run it off the inverter. Bad side is you have to manually count the fridge in gas mode rather than auto if you want it to run on gas when the inverter is on. Let me know if you have any other questions let me know I'll help as much as I can. Congrats on your thor hope you get it soon.

The fridge being part of that loop is a blessing and a curse. I think all things being equal I would have probably preferred that wasn't part of it. Will just have to keep fridge off of auto, or know that whenever the inverter is turned on to turn the fridge to gas.

Fridge aside, that's perfect. That's my big needs. The TVs, the bedside outlets and I had forgotten about the cabinet above, but that's big due to it being the location of the HDMI cables.

On the 12V on the circuit board. Are you referring to the disconnect that you said they had laying loose and you mounted to the right hand (bathroom side) wall of the cabinet, or something that's on the breaker panel?

Considering what you found on the loose connections, and I read a thread not longer ago about some wires or a switch/plug being damaged due to loose connections, I'm going to make a point of killing power to the coach and trying to find all the connections I can and check to make sure they are tight.

Thanks a bunch. Between this and the videos, I feel comfortable doing something that before I would have only paid someone to do.

Looking forward to the rest of your mods and updates.

Nice install on the light bar. Bet that will light up the road for you. Got any specs on the light bar?

It really depends on the state. And how you have it wired. Dot says fog lamps must turn off on high beam. I can't remember the height limits for lighting from dot. The bars over the windshield are illegal. Answer I got from a schp trooper is they don't worry about them if they are mounted below the headlights and aimed in line or below the headlamp pattern. I plan to wire the relay into the foglamp output circuit so it will meet dot specs and have an auxiliary switch in the circuit to disconnect the signal from the fog lamp output to the relay. This will not be used except when traversing dark desolate roads. As for the highways it's really not needed in my opinion. I'm sure we will get pulled over in a state that does not allow them if we don't use it with due regard to other drivers. Like some of the county kids around us running them above the windshield.

It does. I put it in my engine compartment too. Big difference.
