2019 29m bed too high from the floor!
we're really having a hard time with this, again... industry standards..puts top of bed at 24''... with the new popular 9'' mattress and now even taller 12'', they had to start making box springs shorter...and some now come with bunky boards... our bed is 32'' tall one of the reasons we picked the 27b over the 29m was the bed was lower...but we wanted a non fold up bed so we traded it in on a 29m...my guess is this... they raised the bed up to make room for a out door fridge and kitchen....which I already took the fridge out......I thinking this is gonna be a big mod to cut the bed frame walls down 6'' and lower the bed height...and gonna take some time....
the other problem is we don't like the mattress....every thing that we look at is gonna raise it even more
suggestion's???

Why not solve it like you did the other problem? Instead of cutting the bed down, raise the floor. You could make it so the bedroom is a step up.
The only trick would be how to handle the slide.

the other thing, my wife filled the empty nest with these furry kids....she thinks they're people..they can't jump up on the bed and she lets them sleep by her...they jump down to get a drink of water and whine till I pick them back up...

We use a foldable one step from walmart, but we never fold it up works just fine.

At 6'4" i dont have a problem getting in the bed. But Maria at 5' does. She uses a small step stool to get into bed. Sasha, 6lb yorkie, is always takin on and off the bed. No jumping for her
I added a 2" foam topper from Amazon that i put on top of the stock mattress. It was cheaper than a new mattress. If it didnt work out i wont care if we threw it away. But Its great comfortable and i get a good night sleep on it
The suggestion to raise tge floor is a good one. Only need to raise on the sides of the bed. The slide wont come close to touching it

so what if I just raised my wifes side, I don't have a problem getting into bed...when I want to go to sleep I could climb up on the roof if I wanted... wait... there's a good way to get a nice night sleep..anyway...my wife sleeps on the right side... there's nothing over on that side.... I could raise the floor on that side... she could get in bed easier..and so could her dogs... they sleep on that side also...gotta have my space....lol
so with the bed height standard, 24'' and the stair rise 9'' standard, if I raise the floor just on that side, that would put the bed 21'' from the floor...nice rifle stash also....

I was thinking maybe make a subfloor the whole Leith on her side, that just set in there and cover it with carpet ... we're getting rain today in vegas..

a quote would have been nice, but if you were quoting me, no, the bed is 32'' high in stock form... it could use a thick pad, or better mattress , but that would make it even higher...like I said, I think the reason for the high bed is the outdoor kitchen... and I think I can lower it... but it's gonna take some doing...but , just at a fast glance I think it can be done.... the ceiling on the outdoor kitchen would have to be lowered though

Have you noticed how making just a single change; will end up forcing you to make four others?
Good luck with your project: at least you'll be sleeping better!

Heres what we use it's about 8"x12" foot print and can easily fold up. Works great for us.

Made the step/storage box below for the DW (4'10") to rest her feet on in the front chair. But at night it works fine as a step up to the bed in the back (have ours set up as king bed).
