When not connected or generating, just driving then you have to manually change to use mode or the radio and dash outlets and coach lights all that stuff won't work if you don't put it in use manually.

Transfer switches transfer power from one source to another source. You have an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) that supplies 120 VAC from either Shore Power (SP) or the generator to your 120 volt distribution panel.
Disconnects simply interrupt (open) the flow of power from one location to another just like a switch. You have abattery disconnect on your RV AKA USE/STORE switch or Salesman switch. The disconnect is actually a latching relay and it is controlled by a small switch.
Dozens of people have come to this forum with dead house batteries because they believed their battery disconnect automatically connects the battery to the DC buss when they are plugged into SP because the indicator light comes on and they are able to operate their DC loads. Of course this happens because the DC buss receives power from the Converter when on SP as does the indicating light. It simply indicates DC power is available, not the status of the battery disconnect.
Unless your battery disconnect is connected (closed) when SP is on, the house batteries will not charge as they are NOT connected to the converter.
I suggest you try the following test:
With no SP connected, verify you house batteries are charged by closing the battery disconnect and turning ON your interior lights. They should be lit.
Now open your battery disconnect and watch the interior lights go out. There is now no power to the DC buss.
Then plug into SP. The interior lights will light as well as your "disconnect" indicating light. This is because they are now supplied by the converter.
Your disconnect has not changed state and you can verify this by unplugging from SP and watch all the lights go out again.
If your RV does not function like this then it is different from every other RV documented on this forum.
