A/C Upgrade FYI

Just thought that I would share my experience (or lack there of) of what I did with my A/C to make it cool better.
My unit came with a black colored housing which anyone knows will attract more heat. I removed the housing and painted it white. Made a big difference.

I also installed a SoftStartRV on my Ac unit. Makes a big difference by not creating such a load when starting /stopping, especially when using the Generator.

I noticed it went up $30.00 since I bought it. You can get a discount if you go here. (I do not make any money on this) just sharing information.

Yes, SoftStart is a nice mod.
In fact, as discussed on this Forum, Coleman should include this as an OEM component of their new/installed units.

I could go on abt other mods that should be included as OEM, but to no avail.

Coleman-Mach (Airxcel) has made a series of EZ start RV A/C for some time but have incorporated the soft start into their new Mach 10 EDQ series <https://www.airxcel.com/rv/coleman-mach/the-softstart-series>
If you can find one old the discontinued EZ series the are selling for around $600 PPL still has a few in stock.

I installed a soft start in my Ford Transits Coleman Mach 8 + 13.5k btu rooftop unit. It allowed me to run A/C off a 2000 watt generator. Good upgrade.
