Lightbulb Additional driver's side USB

General RV taking their second shot to fix the lighter plug. They couldn't find the fuse location and even Thor's possible location came up empty. So they installed a 10 amp self-resetting inline breaker from a different source. We'll see how that goes.

I want to install an additional multi-port USB right near the light switch (drivers side) and noticed pics of others who have put lighter plugs there.

My question is - from where do I tap an adequate 12v DC source? Now that the original plug is down to a 10 amp breaker (from normally 20 amps) I need a fresh source that'll still juice up all my stuff.

Thanks fellas.

There's a 12v source in the fuse block in the bongo bin under the drivers seat.
There's also a good source on your bin or bird which is actually just above your feet on the drivers side, but it's outside under the hood.

You'll have to decide if you want it always hot or switched off with the ignition.

Or

Look up:'12v fuse tap' on amazon. I now use the side by side ones with the integral fuse, but I've used just the spade type also.

Or
Tap that 12v receptacle you've had problems with. Just run The wire from it to the new USB
Location. USB uses few amps.

The aux 12v and USB in my thread are hooked to the in dash factory Thor 12v receptacle. Post#119 will show you the receptacles I used.

My light bar is powered by my bird with the relay trigger attached to my drl.
My macerator is powered by a fuse tap attached to the fuse block in the bongo bin.
My aux USB is powered from my 12 v receptacle.
So, I've done all three without failure.
