Addtional ACE Storage

I own a 2018 30.3 ACE and am looking for some ideas for additional storage under the sink. I see that Lowes has a slide out two tier shelf unit. Has anyone come up with any other solutions?

I don’t have any pictures, it looks to me that there is a ton of wasted space under the sink. My sink cabinet has two doors, I was hoping to add some shelving to the left side of the cabinet and use a two tier pullout metal rack I saw at Lowes. Just looking for any other ideas before I pull the trigger.

Not really additional, but perhaps more useful. And not under the sink. Our ACE 29.3 has the hinged drop down bed over the driver's and passenger's seats. On both sides are two cubby holes with netting across the front. We decided the bed wasn't really going to be used, and thought about removing it. It's a two-piece, hinged platform, and when in the stored position there's a very useful mirror on the forward section that I didn't want to lose. So I removed the larger rear section, leaving the forward one with the mirror in place. Put doors on the four compartments to give the area a more finished look, hiding whatever clutter ends up being stored in them. And when lowered, the platform will provide a place to put the storage boxes we use to bring food, clothes, etc. whenever we make a trip.

My next rv will be an ACE, and I have often wondered if you could remove that bed, it’s something we won’t need. Great info,Great job, thanks for sharing!

Definitely can remove it - either completely, or as I did, leaving the front portion. And doing that, when it's raised you can still have the cubbies above the windshield concealed as a sort of safe storage, away from prying eyes. And when it is lowered, there's still plenty of headroom above the cockpit.

Added cabinet door above microwave for paperwork.
Also cabinet door below the rear table seat, covered interior wiring so not to disturb
I like the bed removal, that way no place for kids, LOL

Do you have the jackknife sofa? We put 3 totes under there for all our food and kid toys after removing the front panel. Lots of wasted space.

I am sure there are many ways to keep the front panel up. What way did you select?

Question: How was the front attached? Did you consider making the front face removable with something like Velcro or snap in with some sort of fasteners, or even hinged?

Yep - did the door under the dinette seat as well. I suppose the reason Thor didn't put one there to begin with is because of the wiring there. Lot better to have the quick access without removing the seats.

The coach is stored away from home, but I may be checking on it in a day or so. I left the motors in place, along with the linkages which raise and lower the bed, so it still operates as usual - there's just less mass to move.

MRichaud, You answered the more important part of the question. No need for the picture until and if you are bored.
I have a pretty good idea of how it will look.

I never looked that closely at how the linkage on the bed worked so didn't know just leaving it was an option.
That makes it even a bit better since you 'need' a key to lower.
And if you are a casual thief, it might not even occur to you that there is something behind that panel.... SWEET!
You also didn't need to build doors for those storage areas. EVEN SWEETER!

Added a slide drawer under dinette

Moved ladder from back outside storage to behind couch


And added 2 shelves in the closet for more pantry room [ATTACH]23060[/ATTACH

If you have the space under your sink, how about the under cabinet slide out drawers from Amazon. I put two inside the under the sink area ans they work gret for storing silverware and small objects. Under $50.00.

It’s held on with like 2-4 small screws. Easy. I reused the angle brackets and just screwed the 1x2 board to them at the bottom to keep the totes in.

As for velcroing the front on - if it was just me and my wife, that would be a no brainer. My kids are 4 and 7, so they are always in there... so it would be more hassle than it’s worth.
