Question Another Inverter Question

Hey Folks,
i know this has been discussed before, as i have read many threads on this, but there are no recommendations on Brands of inverters. i know may of you have installed these as an add on and many have had them come with the coach. what i am debating on is the Xantrax Freedom x 2000 or the Aims 2000 watt with auto transfer. I am also going to change out the factory coach batteries to 2ea. 100 Amp Hour Lithium Ion batteries. I have a 2018 Vegas 24.1 (both of us love it) but just wanted to get the opinions of the guys who have installed and used these.
Thanks,
Randy

I've got no info on those particular units...
But if they don't say "pure sine wave" somewhere on the box: I'd put them back on the shelf!
Happy hunting!

Last year. I've changed out the original inverter with a xantrex xc 2000 which is pure signewave. Its been working flawless so far. Also has a nice easy to read remote. Offered as option. Ed K

Hi Ed!
Was it just a simple unplug the old one: remove, and plug-in the new one process?

And what does Thor put in their rigs as standard equipment?
Do you know the brand that they use?
Thanks!

Your coach came with a 1000 watt inverter with 4 ga wiring from the battery to the inverter plus a 150/200 amp fuse. A 2,000 watt inverter requires 0/2 ga wiring and a 350/400 amp fuse. Normally the 1,000 watt inverter has a 15 amp bypass with 14 ga wiring; where as, the 2,000 amp uses 20 amp bypass with 12 ga wiring. Typicality a 2,000 watt inverter idling current is more than twice that of a 1,000 watt inverter and this has a bearing on the part load efficiency.

Thor uses the Xantrex Pro XM1000 on gas coaches with a propane refrigerator and have an outside frig. Gas coaches with residential frigs get the 1,800 watt Xantrex Pro XM1800.

Thanks, Beau!
I kind of figured that it wouldn't be as easy as I had hoped...

But it was worth asking!

This product not necessarily this vendor, but shop around for the best value

Magnum Energy

optional remote panel:

Best of luck.
BTW: make sure whichever product you purchase has programmable charge features to accommodate LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) battery bank.
LiFePO4 uses a totally different profile than say flooded lead, or AGM.
If they sit there and float charge, they will never last for the expected number of cycles claimed. LiFePO4 are awesome and $$, expensive mistake for the uninformed. Do your due-diligence.

thanks for the suggestion, but i was going to try and use the original converter/charger which is a 55 amp charger from Arterra and get a stand alone inverter without a charger.
