Faded Crack decals
Finally had enough of looking at the fading cracking decals and I’m having them removed. I’m going to have it color sanded and polished.

I’m not getting my hopes up too high! If it just doesn’t look dirty all the time I’ll be happy. The fading decals made it look unclean even after I had detail.

Im in the same boat. Driver side, afternoon sun side, is terrible. I pulled one decal off while camping at Pechanga cg. I bought several decal eraser wheels and removed another. I plan to remove all the cracked and peeling decal and leave the others if it looks ok. If not they all go. Front and back decals look good so I might leave them. Passenger side will be done last. Hopefully driverside will look good enough that I can leave some there. Just waiting for the weather to heat up a bit.
Who did you hire to do the work and for what price. We are pretty close to each other. If they are reasonable would rather pay then do the work my self

Many of you have seen this “time-elapsed video” of decal removal.
It’s entertaining...

My decals were so far gone that they were starting to attack the finish underneath! In some places they left a “stain” on the finish that had to be wet sanded. It wasn’t cheap Jerry! About a $100.00 a foot when it all done. They’re doing some other things too, that’s why the cost is so high.

Not cheap at all. The decal I already removed has a shadow around it. To me it's just the finish had darkened because of the sun and weather. I hope I can buffer that out. Time will tell

Not done yet, still have to polish, buff and then reseal the seams. Looks like thats the way it supposed look!? I had a 64 Pontiac I paid good money to put ghost flames on it. Little did I know. By the way this will be the second day with a crew of 4 working on it. Mine was in bad condition. That’s after having it detail once a year too! California and the the desert sun just chew the finish up.

Do not wait for it to get worse. Remove them before they imprint into the finish!

Just saw your mh is the same year as mine and we only live a few cities away. Guess that's why our decals look the same
I'm going to start tomorrow removing the cracked decals first then decide if I want to remove the good ones

Decal removal has begun. It's slow going with the cracked decals. Had some that were ok. Hit it with a heat gun for a bit then slowly pull. Few of them came off several was a no go. So had to use the decal eraser tool and drill. It works good but it's slow and the sun is kicking my butt
Did the cargo doors and now starting on the front side area. Looks like this will be am early morning job and stopping when the sun is just to much
Tge decal definitely has a different color under them. I'll need to buy a da buffer and gel coat cleaner. Hope it cleans up

I removed the front decal last December and this is the “stain” in left on the RV! That’s when I started to remove the other ones that were looking the same..

I've got some of that stain on the cargo doors and I'm sure I'll get more if it as I continue. This will be an early morning/evening job
I plan to leave the front and rear decals for now. They are looking good
I'm not in a hurry to get it done so little each day

Take your time, and concentrate on task right in front of you.

After much elbow grease (there’s not mine) the shiny finish came back. Most of the decal area’s look real good almost like thats how it came from the factory! I have 2 areas where the stain could not be 100% removed but there much better than they were before. It was worth the time effort and money in my opinion.
