It's a good product. Myself I have gotten away from using pipe dope on plumbing in the rv or the house. I am a firm believer in teflon tape.

I always use Teflon tape. I have accumulated so much of the stuff over the years I probably will never have to buy any more.

So rubbing this on vs. Hoping tape is straight or on is better

I have used this product for many years in the Farm and Ranch environment repairing and replacing equipment with threaded fittings. It is a very good product which you should avoid allowing to touch your skin

the product isn't NSF approved and you should be careful using and applying.

Be careful to not get any product in water you intend to drink

Teflon tape, used properly is the safest to use on Potable systems
