Awnings

We have recently purchased a 2012 Tuscany. We are very disappointed with the awnings as they are not as solid or usable as the awnings on our previous Chateau. They also retract themselves in even the mildest summer breeze. Basically useless unless it is dead calm.

Anyone have any solutions or ideas on how to improve the awnings on a Tuscany class A?

I had the same issue with my Hurricane 31Z. Then the sensor quit working. We just roll it in if we aren’t there.

Is it a Carefree or Lippert control system for the awning?

The easiest way to disarm the mechanism is with a dedicated on off switch BEFORE the awning switch. Put the awning out, turn off the dedicated switch.
To put the awning back in turn on the dedicated switch.

This will allow control and you'll still have the auto roll ability.

Too easy.

The older CoC Latatude control module does not have a sensitivity setting where as the new one does. If you want full patio awning control, the new system can be refitted and the awning can be controlled by cell phone. RVUpgrades carries them as they are extremely popular

That's the wisest course of action: the new control system!
Disable it; and that's when the wind will catch and destroy it...
