The coach and chassis batteries are not connected unless the engine or generator is running or the coach is plugged in to shore power. The BIRD and Trombetta or Battery Control Center (BCC) make this happen automatically- as long as everything is working correctly. Search this forum for above terms if you want more info on this topic. There’s lots of discussions. Also download Ed’s Axis manual and it is explained in there.

Thanks for asking- I just bought a 2017 25.2- good to know. Also, new to this forum. Can you tell me how to start a
new thread (ask a new question)? I have one about the wire thing that hangs off the left side of my night shade but can't figure out where the NEW THREAD button is on this site. Thanks!

Sounds like the Bird in my Axis 25.2 is wired correctly because my chassis/engine starting battery was weak right, hooked up trusty craftsman 2/10/ start 12volt charger and left it on 2 volt charge overnight, woke up to the smell of battery acid in the coach, looked at the charger it was pegged wide open and the top of the battery had dried acid water on it. It's the Original motor craft factory battery and it still read 8 volts ! ?
It's 3 yrs old, I replaced it.
Thanks for all your questions and answers, we should open up a RV dealership lol

Back-up start button

My Axis 25.2 chassis battery went low and when I pushed the acc start button the house batteries didn't assist... no fun
Please advise
Bill

Check your BIRD/Trombetta solenoid. It's supposed to activate when you push/hold the Emergency Start switch.

I'll have my wife push it and I'll listen for the Click and have a volt meter handy. Thanks so much

If your chassis battery is very low, it may take some time for the house batteries to bring the chassis battery up to the point where it will start the engine. Just pushing the emergency start button and trying to immediately start the engine may not work. If the emergency start does not work, try starting your generator and seeing if that will charge the chassis battery and allow you to start the engine.
