Ebay also has quite a few cup holder inserts.

Great idea, I hadn't thought of using adapters. Another trip to the hardware is in store. Before painting I was planning to wipe the PVC down with acetone which I think is the same as PVC primer without the purple dye. Should help the paint stick much better.

Hey Tom, I also wiped the pvc couplers with acetone prior to spraying them. I used Rust-Oleum painters touch 2X ultra cover paint +primer in one. It says on the can bonds to plastic. It worked great!

The one I used was a straight 3" to 3" coupler used to fit inside of a 2"x4" stud wall. My Home Depot didn't have them, so I ordered them from a plumbing supply house for a few bucks each.

That looks like a reducer, rather than a coupler

We have been talking about putting cup holders in the front table, love what you did. We would also like a lip/edge around table. So when we are driving things don't slide off. Any ideas? Did you change the cup holders up front? We haven't found a cup that sets well in them.

Since I like minimal looks on table & elsewhere ... cup holders then maybe two of those anti slide thin mat things in tan? Haven't had any sliding issues yet.

Thanks to all the posters on this thread who have inspired me to come up with what I think is a great solution to the ridiculous cup holder Thor has put into some of their coaches.

I found these sewer/drain hub pvc couplers at the hardware. They are thinner than regular schedule 40 PVC fittings. The outside diameter is 3 1/2" and inside 3 1/4". They fit very snugly in the forward holders. I wiped them down with acetone to break the glaze and painted them satin black with Krylon Fusion spray paint.

Unfortunately, in the rear cup holders they do not fit snugly and will flop around when a water bottle is put in them. So I tried to find a way to make them snug in the real holders. I found these aluminum sprinkler pipe gaskets that work perfectly.

They are a 3" "Wade Rain" gasket and can be found at a commercial agricultural irrigation dealer or ordered here. A little dish soap for lube and then stretch and slide over the couplers about half way down.

So now I put the couplers in the forward holders with the gasket on top.

And flip them over to use them in the rear holders where they now fit very snugly and will securely hold a full water bottle without falling over.

PM me if you have a specific questions.

That's a pretty good looking setup for a marine SuperD.

Cup holder Redesign

I took the original cup holder (which we all know is worthless) from my Windsport and redesigned it in a free CAD program. I then printed out new ones with my 3D printer. Still have to adjust some settings. I used the 3/16 inch auto plugs to hold them in so it wouldn't look tacky with screw heads. Opinion folks??

On Amazon, what did you search (name) to find this product?
Thanks.
