I had some left over memory foam from my first coach. I cut a rectangular piece and glued it directly to the vinyl floor with commercial grade glue (like liquid nails). I left it for a few days to see how it would hold up...nice and secure...so far. I then glue a small piece of 1/2 ply to the foam. Left it for a few days...nice and secure...so far.
I looked into "piecing together" the individual hoses and fittings. When I did the math, I felt it wasn't worth it. I purchased the "silencing kit" hoses on Amazon for $26.00.
Project cost was about $30.00 bucks

Often, we forget to post simple mods we take for granted.
Regarding Command Hooks .. I bought a 8 pack .. placed 5 of them in the closet..
3 on the inside of the door and 2 on each wall near the door, inside closet.
In addition, will place 2 in the shower for damp towels (remember to open vent slightly when moist items in bathroom)
Then going to get a couple Stainless Steel color, to place on the wall opposite the shower for clothing etc.

Love those command hooks; we put 3 up in the bathroom for towels.

How about a drop leaf table top for your pedestal?

Rvfigs,
What size of fence post is that?
Also how about a shot from underneath to see how it is mounted and routed.
Any problem with heat generated by the generator? Our first outing (in the front yard) killed off a nice square patch of the lawn directly under the generator.

Hey Doc,
It is a 4x4 post and about 4.5 feet in length...I think.
I wanted it to be accessible, so I played around with a lot of configurations. I do have a spare tire mounted under the coach (DW insisted).
The post has a nice pitch. I drilled a few holes on the sides and on the bottom to help with drainage.
I used some simple metal strips to secure it.
I haven't had any issues with heat...yet. This was one of my concerns. I haven't really used the generator for long periods of time.
I was thinking of using some high temperature black tape. I think this could work - wrap the section of the post behind the generator. Another idea floating in my head was wrapping a thin metal sheet around the post...spray it black and done.
For now, the mod appears to be holding up. If the mod fails...than it's another opportunity to tinker!
Doc...have any remedies for Tinker Disease?

Rvfigs,
Thanks for the pictures (visual learner here).
How about some insulated piping material with an aluminum exterior cover?
Cure, oh yeah...the next tinker!

Sounds like it could work.
There are certainly some solutions to the heat concerns. The location, for me at least, is very convenient. I don't have to squat too much or reach too far in.

Fatmat would probably work as well, and its self-adhesive.

Jamie,
For outside use is Fatmat waterproof?
I have never used any but after getting my HUD up and running I think I need to put some up behind the foot pedals on the wall to the engine compartment as it sure got warm to the touch with the car idling as I adjusted the RPM readout.

Dental Work on Axis!
Here is my latest mod...a different approach to radiator protection. Thanks to claude28 for the idea. I tried different sheet metal patterns and this pattern kept calling me.
I want to let the GOOP Adhesive dry for 48 hours...as instructed on the label. Then I will test the strength to see how it holds up.
On to the next tinker!

Go to the local auto parts store and get some exhaust tape. It is usually good to around 800 degrees.

I agree as to the location and now with the ease of exhaust tape (a cousin to Duct Tape, and just ask the DW about how well I handle Duct Tape!) I see my next MOD/tinker coming to life.
Thanks to all.
PS: Cool fix for the radiator protection. Keep us Posted as to how it handles the next few road trips
