I used senior member mcr1010's method for the mounting: http://www.thorforums.com/forums/f27...egas-1322.html

Instead of using metal strips, I used heavy duty ratchet straps.

I like the idea of having a spare tire ready to go...locked and loaded! I don't want to deal with any shenanigans from road side service.

Anyone mount a spare on Vegas 25.2? If so where? Thanks.

There have been many posts on this subject in this forum. Try doing a search.

The easiest and most expensive solution is a device that uses the trailer hitch.

Roadmaster Inc. - Tow Bars, Braking Systems & RV Accessories

A number of owners have come up with a less expensive solution by mounting it under the coach.

Bill,

I ordered a Curt Spare tire mount that uses the hitch (see attch).

Doc,
On the hitch. Cool. I need to investigate the under coach solution as the hitch is spoken for.
Thanks

Bill,

I was looking at towing down the road, but you can get a Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter Extension for 2" Class III or IV Towing!

passenger console

Heading to Virginia for Spring Break.

I needed to finish this mod because the DW wanted it done before our trip.

Made the console box higher and added some storage on the side. Also added USB outlet. In addition, DW wanted different cup holders. Small 3 inch platform was made as well, as DW's feet dangle when she sits in the chair. I want to cover the platform with some matching linoleum.

At some point, I will work on the driver side console. The second one should be a lot easier and better fitting.

RvFigs,

I have been looking at those consoles for storage, maybe even a locked compartment.

My DW (4'10") likes the 3" platform. Looks like a future mod.

RV !! you nailed it !! As the co-pilot...I have been lobbying with Ron to do a Mod on my side of the cockpit ! Right now, I have a small stool for my feet ..and I am 5'8" ! Just drives my legs crazy if my feet are not at the right angle and Ron doesn't like to see my feet on the dash !!
In addition...I WANT THE CUP HOLDERS !!! and the EXTRA STORAGE !!
I am printing your photo and placing it on Rons breakfast plate in the am !!
THANK YOU !!

Tinkers,

My sewer storage mod has some issues. I scrapped it a few times while going into gas stations. Too low.

It is time to re-tinker. I will keep you posted on the redo.

Upgraded the bathroom faucet today after seeing some previous post on here about others doing it. Only took about 10 minutes and very easy to do. No tools required. Looks so much better with the brushed nickel than the cheaper lightweight plastic fixture and gives lots more room to get the hands underneath the faucet.

Thanks to others for posting about doing this which motivated me to do so.

Your stinky slinky storage ran next to the genny, correct?

Yes. I ran the generator several times while on the road for the kids. No signs of melting or anything.

I'm going with round pvc pipe next time. I have another idea for easy access to sewer storage. It may require at least one 30 degree elbow.

Keep tinkering.

Our sewer storage "system" (as detailed in post #2 of this thread! LOL) hasn't budged. The fencepost even still has the black paint on it--I figured that'd be the first thing to go.

The end that buts up to the generator has shown no signs of melting either.

I got it from Amazon. It's a Phoenix S1265-1 brushed nickel single lever bathroom faucet ($46.61+ shipping or free shipping with Prime).

Just saw your questions. i purchased and used one for towing my jeep and using Hitch Mount Folding Cargo Carrier Basket. Decided to use one or the other not both. But it worked - only issue was the receiver was not tight, if I was to use it I would get the tightening brackets they sell to keep the receiver from moving.
