THANKS Jamie ! … we, actually, had not had any problem with our counter top extension until this week on our trip home. The darn thing began banging like crazy...anyhow...this item will do well.

You also can buy magnetic catches specifically made for RV compartment doors. I bought several for my vertical slam doors because they would blow closed in the wind while I was using them.Click image for larger version

That $15.00US price looks good, so I went to Amazon.ca (I live in Canada) and searched for the same item. I figured add 30 to 40% for the exchange rate, so probably around the $20 CAN mark.
Nope.....$47.49CAN! I guess I won't be buying this item. I'll have to stick with the bungee cord I'm presently using.

There are several brands and colors. Just search online for magnetic RV compartment door catches. I secured mine with small stainless steel screws.

I came across this on the Hurricane Mods Thread...

A Locking Water Fill Inlet that's "plug & play" in a Vegas/Axis
This is an exact fit for the B&B Inlet that's OEM on my rig

One consideration is weight vs $$ which comes down to aluminum vs steel. I saved some bucks and bought the Demco 10k pound capacity. That bad boy weighs 40+ pounds and can be a bit unwieldy when my back is grumpy.

Another consideration is gettin a backplate paired up to your toad of choice. Jeeps shouldn't be a problem. It's easier to stick with one brand. Our Tacoma had Road mater plates and Demco made an adapter bar. It's sort of a PITA so I leave it bolted on the truck.

Well, just completed 2 mods on my “new to me - since Feb 2019” 2016 Vegas 24.1. Added the RVLock keypad lock with no problems. Looks and works great.

In addition, today finished my replacement of the uncomfortable couch with the RecPro recliners. The look and feel great.

I though I would pass on to you something we did out of necessity,...regarding the front curtains which cover the side windows … If Thor has not changed them for a better product,...the liner on them will disintegrate in the sun and heat within a year....I looked at making new curtains...then looked at all the hooks I would have to reinstall...and decided to simply cut out that white liner..as close to the seam as possible...which was relatively easy...job done...kept the OEM curtains and we are happy.
In addition...I did look for material to make new curtains...and just could not find anything I liked and which suited our taste. So the removal of the liner was done..and now I am happy with the curtains !

Made new ones from room darkening drapes. Sideways the new drapes were the perfect length... small curtain rings perfect to hang. Only had to sew rings on , shorten the width, and then I added short ones for the front part of side windows as someone on this forum posted. Great idea

Yeah we cut out those liners and now also use the foil to cover the windows when in storage to save the curtains from all that UV of just sitting there in the sun.

Vegas top of dash storage

I've seen a few mods to the doghouse and the built in tray on the top of the dash, but I keep looking at that expansive area all the way across the dash and wonder if anyone has built any trays or drawers or any sort of good use of this area. That area is just huge and seems to be a lot of wasted space.
Ideas?

I think someone has made some custom center consoles... check all of the pages of this tread or "Jerrys Huricane Mods". Tons of good into in both.

I put a shallow plastic tray on mine. Its held in place by a anti skid mat and has not moved since I intalled it. Its good for sunglasses, cell phone cords and other small things I keep up front.

Right, I've seen those. But I am referring to the vinyl covered wide area on top of the dash that runs from passenger work table to the drivers side window. There's a bunch of flat space there that just seems like it needs some sort of storage on it.

Oh, I got you. I have not seen anything on top of the dash. I would not want anything on top permeantly for 3 reason.

1). I dont want it to fly off in an emergency stop (or accident) and hit me or my wife or break the big windsheild.

2). I dont want to screw anything on top of the dash (ruins it IMO = resale).

3). I like to keep my line of sight open for driving and enjoying the views
when stopped.

I do put some of the anti skid mats on top of the dash to hold cell phones and I pad or snacks while driving.

Plus when I camping that area becomes my office. I spread out my paper work and even pull out my printer (as need) and stick on to of the dash (when stopped only).

1.

we agree....we don't want anything on the dash that could go flying into the windshield or elsewhere. I DO use the fold out desktop while we are enroute...that is very handy for me.

We have a length of rain gutter across our 24.1 from A pillar to a A pillar. Felt lined, it's low profile, rattle free, and holds manicure stuff, aux input cables, writing utensils, that sort of thing.

The brown color is a good match.
Cost was about 8 bucks for gutter and end caps.

Wow, thats is not a bad idea. Nice and low profile.

Do you have it velcro-ed in place?

If you only put light stuff in it and the gutter is wide like you have (So it can move forward).... I can see that working very well.... esp on long trips.
