Yes you can, we did! We had our 2018 Vegas delivered to White Pigeon and Quadra Mfg. installed before we took delivery of our then new RUV. We have nothing but good things to say about their customer service and after 40,000 miles across our beautiful country the system is still working well.
PS) Installed snap pads about two years back and are happy with the adder!

Is this something best left to a professional? I figured the smart move would be to have the kit shipped to a shop somewhere, but if it's something I could do myself, I'd give it a whirl.

What's been your experience with the system? If you had it to do over again, would you do automatic or manual leveling?

Thanks!

The installation is quite involved. Front jacks bolt on without drilling, but rear jacks require you to drill holes in frame. You will also need to mount hydraulic tank under rv. ( I placed mine on cross member behind gas tank), route hydraulic lines, route electrical wiring harness, tie into existing electrical (all of which is under rv) I did not need to jack the rv up but many hours laying on my back. In addition, you need to drill a hole from underneath rv into rv to mount the controller inside your rv (I placed mine right underneath light switches near entry door). Based on your skill assessment, you will need help with the installation.

In regards to system, I don’t think the extra money and complexity would be worth it for auto leveling, but it’s a personal preference. It takes me 30 seconds to get the rig leveled. The system stabilizes rv and gets you close to level with a press of a button. For final level adjustments, i place a surface level on floor and manually extend/ retract jacks as needed. I also considered snap pads, but after use without them, I did not feel they are needed. I carry short 2x8 boards from my pre leveler days, if the ground is soft or if I need to overcome extremely uneven ground, I just slide the board under the foot of the jack. Most of the time they are not needed

Our 2016 Axis 24.1 unit needed hanging places for coats. We purchased over the door hangers from WalMart and put them over the doors outside the bathroom doors and put a 3-hook unit hooked onto the overhead bed sideboard close to the door. We backed that with a piece of wood and it can slide to where you want it. These really made a big difference. The other improvement that I did was to fabricate a fold down spare tire mount that installs into the current hitch. We have 27,000 miles on our rig now and after having different types of campers over the past 45 years, we love this one for our current life style. We tour America and go fishing occasionally.

24.1 mattress replacement

I have seen posts of replacement twin mattresses, but now that I want to buy, can't find them through the search. Please
1. Give me link to firm mattress same size, or 2. Link me to past discussion, or 3. How to search?
THANKS in advance to this group, I have really benefitted from past posts.

These are what I bought for my Vegas 24.1 in December, 2020 at Amazon:

Vesgantti Hybrid Twin Size Mattress-39x75x9. Currently $167 each. There are also thicker versions. 4,290 ratings averaging a 4.5.

We are still very happy with them and they are much more comfortable than the standard Vegas mattress. It is harder to change the sheets as they exactly fill the available area and while they are somewhat flexible, they do not bend like a cheap foam mattress. If you do buy them, I would not recommend buying more than the 9" thickness.

Looking for Axis/Vegas 24.1 build info

Hello Folks!

I've been lurking here and elsewhere trying to soak up as much background as possible before asking, and have searched but not found what I wanted.

I understand that some 24.1 units have been built on E450 chassis, and the 7.3 Godzilla motor phases in somewhere in 2018 or 2019? In addition, later units are now shipped with an induction cooktop instead of propane.

For me, the perfect combo would be E450, 7.3l v8, propane.

Most dealer ads supply the VIN#, as you know, the Ford lookup shows the motor OK, but the chassis as incomplete, with GVW 11,000-14,000. I have even seen dealer ads showing engine as V10 when VIN lookup says V8.

1) Was E450 ever an orderable option? Or just random supply chain issue during Covid era production if E350 were scarce?

2) Does Thor do anything during the build process to define the GVW build?

3) What model year does the propane cooktop become available? I can change that out if I have to.

Many thanks in advance for your patience and help! I have narrowed down to 24.1, and will expand my search from Nature Coast of Florida as necessary.

Larry

You can’t have it all…
- Godzilla was on 2020 with E350
- you can add propane cooktop, justsplice in from under chassis and go thru floor
- many in ‘20 thru present had DC fridge,if you find one with propane you can splice propane from that point

You’ll just have to do your own research as Thor’s build decisions drift with the wind

Thanks! Yes, "drifting with the wind" seems to apply to many things these days. Actually, the DC fridge would be preferable as I would be upgrading batteries and adding solar.

Check the link in my signature.
The thread is a mess(purposefully).
I have about 100+ mods to my 24.1.
