To do it right, it’s a big job

those are the wrong rims,..using reversed rims on a motorhome, not a good idea..puts too much weight on the outer bearing

There was a long (and heated) conversation on the safety of this type of (reversed) rim
Interesting to have your professional opinion
I’m sure more will chime in to continue that discussion

Taillights revisited

Sitting in our coach since last fall have been new LED taillights (the Command Electronics replacement set). Those still come with the same foam gasket that the old ones use, however.

My solution: I picked up a 12" x 36" sheet of this stuff (Amazon) (Hmm looks like people use it to repair wetsuits ! LOL). I used the foam gasket as a template and a sharp utility knife to cut out my own gasket.

Now I'm ready to install the new taillights once the temps warm up a bit (maybe next week it will be closer to 50F than 20F...).

the design of that front hub was to be able to rotate the tires, as in use a spare in any location....the tire needs to be inwards of the lug nuts....it's a severe gvw loss running the wheel outward and puts a huge strain on the hub...could cause the hub to break, and ruins the bearings...there's not a pic of the rear wheels and I can't imagine why those wheels are on the front????

Axis 24.1 water tank

Jamie,
Have you heard of using city water hookup filling water tank? Thanks

Do you mean intentionally or accidentally?

Accidentally: When a coach is new sometimes debris gets stuck in the pump allowing the fresh water tank to backfill from the city water (through the pump).

Intentionally: Some people have put in a feed back line from the pressurized cold water lines back to the antifreeze injection point before the pump (have to put some valves in as well) so you can do that.

Jamie, Accidentally. Have had for 3 years but rarely use city connection. It might be my imagination or just censor fluctuation. I will keep my eye on it and I guess if I want to know for sure I can empty my tank and then use city connection and see what happens. Not sure if leaving the pump on plays into this or not.

1) The clearance is okay, no rubbing. The new tires are 1 1/2 inches bigger in diameter so the rig is 3/4" taller, gained underneath. I didn't see any increase in gas mileage but I've been towing. I don't feel any loss of power pushing the bigger tires, either. They "feel right".
...snip...
The rear tires are very close to the wheel well side. Snow chains won't fit. A blow out will cause body damage but that's a given

On our 2016 25.2 there is an hdmi cable in one of the upper bedroom cabinets.

correct....and...if I remember correctly..(our Axis is still under cover)...the extra hdmi ports are on the left side of your tv … we use those ports as well as the one which appears in the cabinet above the tv for the dvd player, etc.

Unscrew the two screws on bottom and the two on top. Have someone help you hold it up.
The TV in front has a hatch if I remember right. You pull a strap to on hook it.

yes...it is a little tricky...but it does come off...I would rather have it a bit difficult than be worried about it falling off the wall driving down a bumpy road.

gnach - Do you have some clearer / more well lit pictures of your new tires? This is something I might be interested in down the road.

I punch in the specs of my old tires (225 x 75 x 16) vs your new ones (235 x 85 x 16) and they are 2.44 inches taller over all (1.22 taller side wall / ride height).

Thats 8.3% larger.

Also .39 inch wider.

So not too much IMO - but it fills up the wheel well nicely and give you a little more clearance under the RV for rough campground / dirt roads.

It shows your actual speed will be 70.42 but your odometer will show 65 mph.
