During the assembly process bolts can be over tightened. You can try loosening a bolt or two to make it easier for the fitting to swivel.

Thor, apparently, doesn't keep these items in stock. Thor builds as the need arises. Thor requested the VIN from the dealer and will be making the dinette to fit the slide for the 24.1.

Let's see how this all works out.
Any progress from Thor to report on your 24.1 dinette conversion?

Very nice dinette project.

How wide did you make the dinette? I'm curious if you matched other Axis/Vegas dinettes or went with a different width. And can you post more pictures with slide retracted? I'd love to see how much aisle space you have left.

Rock Guard

I studied the rock guard mods others have made, went to Home Depot and visited with them. One guy suggested using a pet screen door protector and cutting to size.

Worked quite well and is SOLID! I zip tied 3 places on top. It doesn't move. Will have easy access if ever needed.

Scangauge. Vent Covers

Added a scangauge e. Velcro mounted at bottom of center dash. installation is plug and play, so easy even for me. Now I should get a bit more info such as MPG, range, etc.
Placed Vent covers on the roof LR BRand Lav vents. 2 hours.

Bill,

Do you have a picture of the Scanguage, more info on the company that manufactured it? I get tired of having to squint and remove my sunglasses to read the dash instrumentation.

Great town Hendersonville (just a couple of hours from Maiden here) also nice American Legion Post 77.

Has anyone put a real mattress in the back of an Axis 24.1 in order to make a dedicated king size bed? Any issues with access or anything else?

We bought a custom made gel topper for ours. It's approx 92x75, so it covers the whole bed. We had to buy a custom made bottom sheet & mattress pad. It's very comfortable.
It was a little difficult making the bed, took me about 30 minutes.
To access the water valve to winterize, we rolled the gel topper back, and took the small cushion out. Not too difficult.

Jazz,

Having spent some time in the Military, I can sleep on a soft rock and a pillow. However, the DW needs a bit more sophistication...so where did you find the gel topper?

Got it at Quality Sleep Shop in LaGrange, Il 708-246-2224
We gave them the measurements, they made the topper. It was pricey, but the mattresses that came with the vegas were not comfortable. This made a huge difference.

Jazz,

Thanks. I have family near there. Need to look up the place and get one made for the DW.

Here is a link to Scangauge ... ScanGaugeE : Linear Logic - Home of the ScanGauge
Not much to the install. Coose a spot, hide the wire, plug it in. follow prompts on engine size, fuel capacity, fuel price. Done.

I put my scan gauge on the dashboard in the far left hand corner of the front window where I can see it without moving my eyes from the road. I hate to look down, even at the instruments. With the gps on the dash (for speed) and scan gauge up high, it limits the number of times I have to look down to check the other gauges. I've had it for 20,000 miles in the Vegas and it works well.
