Wow! What a dramatic difference in stability, even with the factory sway bar. It holds the front end very steady. No sway. No sag. No bottoming out!

Took about 30 minutes to install. Remove factory bump stop. Screw in the Sumo Spring. Done!

Will be testing the rear Sumo Springs in a few days.

I have the SSF-106-40.

The 40 indicates durometer or stiffness.

The 106-47 may be too stiff.

Ron,

I don't have a stabilizer bar. I wanted to see how the Sumo Springs worked to stabilize the coach. It does a very nice job.

Gentlemen,

In RVFIGS post #803 I see the part # SSF-106-40 listed for the front Sumo Solos.
In RVFIGS post #799 I see the part # SSR-107-54 being questioned as to the Sumo Solos for the rear. Is that the correct number for the rear?

They are a few dollars cheaper on Amazon. Plus I have Prime so I will get 2 day shipping for free. Yes they come in pairs.

Hey fellas,

I added the SSR-107-54 to the rear and I'm not sure I like them.

There is about a 1/4 gap between the bottom of the Sumo Spring and the top of the rear. Certainly, a lot better than the original bump stop.

I called Sumo Springs and spoke with the Engineer. He mentioned that this was normal and okay. After staring at it for some time, I can't help but to logically think that the 107-54 Sumo Solos are not working as they should if they are not slightly snug on the rear. Also, the 54 durometer appear stiff. Personally, I don't want a Lamborghini suspension. However, I do want a Phanton Rolls Royce suspension - in control and smooth.

I could probably add another spacer to the rear Sumo Spring, but I still need to contend with the stiffness.

I am ordering the SSR-106-40-1 for the rear. They have the same durometer as my front Sumo Solos. I will compare both and return the one I don't like.

I still can't get over the front suspension improvement! Amazing!

what durometer are these which you are considering...the front is a
lower durometer?
Being familiar with durometer just curious.

Well, he recommend the 107-54 because they were cheaper and easier to install. He also mentioned that they were great if you were towing.

My biggest beef is that the Sumo Solo 107-54 is not really doing its work if it is not engaged or slightly compressed initially. My other beef with the the Sumo Solo 107-54 is that it is offset above the axle. It doesn't make contact dead center on the axle. So when it is engaged it catches or makes contact with the edge of the Sumo Solo. It looks like Sumo Spring just made a Sumo Solo for the rear bump stop on the e450 without looking at how it made contact.

However, the 106-40-1 is fully engaged because it is mounted differently. It seems truly functional.

I'm just trying to use my intuition. Who knows...I could be way off here. My intuition got flushed down the toilet when I got married to my lovely DW!

Made a lighting mod to our 25.2 yesterday. The wife and I both felt that the lighting is very bright every where in the coach, including the bed reading lights. I took the lenses off the (2) "reading lights" and the lenses off the (2) lights at the dinette. Spray painted the inside of the lenses with rustoleum bronze paint. What a dramatic difference in lighting levels in those areas. Lighting levels are now pleasant without being too bright.

My intuition says that that motorhome had issues before it was built. The design proportions themselves seem questionable to me, particularly for towing. I wish him luck trying to fix inherent handling and ride deficiencies.

There is suppose to be a space so the Sumo doesn't engage until needed. If the Sumo was snug every time you hit a bump your teeth would chatter and the ride would be too stiff. It is designed so if a big truck passes or you turn a corner, or you hit a bump the Sumo will stop too much movement. It is not meant to take the place of the stock suspension which gives a smooth ride.
