Rev Jeff nails Axerra radio replacement - updates
After reading the thread about replacing Axerra radio, to solve GPS, volume turning off with turn signals, camera display at night, etc. We decided to purchase same radio crom Walmart and the 4 year replacement warranty, delivered in two days.
We opened package, removed Axerra from RACHEAL, and took picture of wiring label on back of radios and compared side by side.
RevJeffrey was most helpful in the install instructions he posted at the beginning of this thread and in answering questions.
We found, and were told, that all wires were same color as used on Axerra plug. After double checking all connections/labels, we removed wires one by one from Axerra and installed the new system with 10 inch display. We ran the GPS antenna under dash by removing the speedometer cover and feeding under window frame. An amazing radio with tethering, wifi, GPS, any number of apps u wish. We took it for a test drive and found cameras needed adjusting and other factory settings. In order to get into these settings, you must go to ROOT of system by going to Android Settings-more-car settings-extra settings and then type 123456-ok-ok and A LARGE MENU for most settings and you need to toggle what you want or not want. This did not solve camera display issues, after much research, and “futzing” around, we discovered another hidden menu when cameras were active. If u swipe down, from middle of display screen, another set of menus for camera, brighness, contrast, saturation appeared and display issues resolved. Here are some photos.
