Axxera AV614BH Backup Camera Mod

The major complaint about the Axxera AV614BH is them inability to simultaneously display the backup camera on the screen and listen to the radio.

There is a solution. However, any modification you make to your RV may have an effect on your warranty.

What is needed is a switched 12v source, an on/off switch and a connection to the "Reverse" lead on the Axxera AV614BH.

I picked a lead at the camera control box that is turned on with the ignition:

This box is where you would make changes to the camera configuration.

Here is the wire that I tapped

And here is the "Reverse" wire on the AV614BH

This is what the area behind the center console looks like:

And finally here is a video of it working

Isn't it nice that everything is already labelled for you!

How did you take apart the console? (I have to admit I haven't looked at the console close enough to find any screws.)

There are four nuts, two at the top and two at the bottom. Reach into the corners and you will find the nuts. They are finger tight. They probably can't take too much torque as the bolts are just glassed into the console. The top two nuts have fender washers. Double faced tape (or cellophane tape doubled over itself) works well to keep the washers in place while you start the nuts.
