Axxera Radio Replacement

Just wanted to point out another option, went with soundstream 106f.
Floating 10.6 screen, only downside is it partially covers switch panel viewing from drivers seat.


The rear support pin from ax worked out perfectly, also added reverse feed blocking diode for external switch and brake simulator.


Now for those speakers..

Does anyone know if the SoundStream 106f is a direct replacement to the OEM Jenson JRV212T radio? Also is it a DIY type of task?

Physically, it fits. Now if you're asking if the Axxera plug will plug into the 106F, the answer is; "very unlikely".

I'm about ready to pull the plug and buy this. I'll lose left & right cameras, but they're not very useful anyhow.
Anyone see any particular issue I might have?

Why would you lose the side cameras? All 3 cameras are fed into a camera switcher box which puts out a single RCA feed to the radio.

When you get this installed
Download an app called
Car Launcher.

It lets you set up your home screen to include only the things you want there.
It allows about a dozen subscreens as well.
It has about 1,000 combinations in size and widgets.

Also,
pester Mr Koldman until he tells you which steering wheel radio controls he uses.

I need a new head unit.
I'll follow your lead on this purchase.

(I'm considering a tablet and a base mount instead)

I just had a preliminary inspection by the fellow that will be doing my install.
Good news: he says easy peasy--all will work & will only take about 2 hours.
Bad news: He can't do it until 2nd weekend in August! (3 weeks out)
