Back Up Camera Wiring ? Reverse or Not ?

Curious: When you wired your Back Up camera into the MH wiring, did you wire it into the Back Up Lights, or into something else? and would you do it the same again?

I am considering wiring it into something that could power the Camera more than just when I am in Reverse. I mostly will need the camera when I am backing up, but I could see it being useful at other times also.

I know that I would have to switch to the camera on the GPS (Garmin RV760LMT) but I am leaning towards wiring into the running lights or something that would give power all the time.

Anyone wire it into something other than Back Up lights? Are you glad you did? Any solid recommendations?

When I hooked up my backup camera, I just wired in into the backup lights and it worked fine. If I was to do it again, I would either hook it up to a switch on the dash, or both. Sometimes I wished I could turn it one to check the trailer behind me. If you do both, you would have to install a diode so that the switch doesn't turn on the backup lights, although it would not be the end of the world if it did.
