Battery Cable Size

Hi. I have 4 batteries at 6 Volts each. In serious. I want to add a battery quick disconnect. Using the ground cabel to the body of the motor home. I need to buy one negative cable. What gauge should I buy 2 gauge or 4 gauge?

Thanks

Go with #2 gauge. My Axis' coach battery has three main loads: the converter, the generator starter and the BIM which connects it to the chassis DC system. The wire gauge to the BIM and starter is #2 gauge. The wire gauge to the converter is quite a bit smaller. In any case I would match the biggest potential load, so go with #2.

I used 1/0 since my existing cables to the coach from the two banks were already 1/0

Certainly don't go smaller than whatever you already have coming to the switch
