Motorhome rim size.

We have a 2019 Thor Windsport 29m. We are looking into getting a spare to carry. We have the F53 chassis with 19.5 × 6.75 × 10 bolt 225 MM. It see m.h a difficult and expensive to locate a rim. I was wondering for a spare and in a pinch how come you could not use the more available 19.5 × 6.0 × 10 bolt 225 mm rim. I understand it's not the same size but would the .375 on each side really matter.

The reason for the 6.75" rim width and back space is to keep the rear dulies with 245 mm tires from rubbing each other. The 6.0 inch wide rims are made for the smaller 225/70-19.5 tires and locate the tires closer together. Any Ford dealer can order rim as it is in the Ford parts catalog for the F-53 chassis. Accuride sells the 19.5"x 6.75" 10 bolt rim with 225 mm hub center. <https://buytruckwheels.com/>

I used a 225 on the 6" wheel as a spare for 4 years until I was able to find a 6.75 wheel. a friend who owns a truck tire shop suggested this as an alternative until w could find the correct wheel. He instructed me that in the event of a rear wheel flat I should use a wheel from the front to replace that one and then put the 225 on the front. Only drive that way until you can get a correct tire mounted. Hopefully the rim was not damaged!

I recently found a source for the correct 6.75 wide wheel at www.wheelsnowinc.com . They are located in Waukesha WI, phone 800-782-5145. The cost was $137.00 plus $37.00 freight to Ohio. I bought the wheel on 11/6/19 and received it about a week later.

Their description is "19.50 x 6.75 10H on 8.85 bolt circle- motorhome wheel" Accuride 29879

So that’s good advise on the spare rim. I got mine at wheelsnowinc as well $144 and arrived in 3 days.
The tire... ouch. Shop around, first I wanted my tires to match...it’s just a thing, move on- so typically I was finding prices of $650. [emoji33]. I shopped and got a new (6 months old) matching Goodyear tire for $430. I had the tire shop give me the tire codes so I could see how long they’ve been sitting around. One of his was almost 2 yrs old. I don’t want that one. [emoji16]. Mounted and balanced for $40 at my local heavy truck shop.
That combination is almost 150lbs. Even separately the UPS guy was not thrilled with my purchases. [emoji23]. Now you’ll need to carry it and recall it’s heavy. So you’ll need the Roadmaster hitch carrier. It makes the rim/tire effortless to mount and un-mount. The cost is a bit painful at about $600.
