BBQ hook ups

I'm looking at grills for the MH. Tired of the 1lbs bottles. Most grills are high pressure with a regulator built into the temp control valve. Has anyone defeated the regulator part of the temp valve so you can hook up to the low pressure MH tank via a quick connect low pressure hose?
How did you do it? Where to buy parts?
I've already put a tee in the low pressure side of the MH tank regulator

Thanks in advance

I have an LP port for a grill on my motor coach. I purchased a conversion kit (Amazon) for my Weber Q1200. This in-tailed removing the regulator on the grill and connecting the converter.

Works great.

I recently went with the Napoleon Travel Q285. Napoleon sells the RV adapter kit for connection to the quick connect on the RV. It is their part number 66287.

Which model do have?
It might be possible to contact the folks where I got my fitting, and see if they have something for yours.
Good luck!

We did the exact thing with our Weber 1200. Works awesome.

If you google it it will come up. As I think there are different adapter kits depending on the make of your grill.

Thanks I'll try that once I get the grill here and see what they have on it.

MTHook,
Which model Charmglow did you order?
Post it in here, and we'll be happy to help you look for adapters.

I don’t have any post-install pics and am not at my rig currently.

Here is what I ordered on Amazon.

DozyAnt 12 feet Low Pressure... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XK43NL3...p_mob_ap_share

That's just a hose. It doesn't convert anything.

Here's the Camco low pressure conversion kit:

Amazon has it for a lot less but their description is completely wrong.

Angry Propane adapters

I have been down this road. Apparently one adapter does not fit or work with all. All of the adapters I have found only work with specific manufacturers.
Some grills have specific regulators that are only for their specific grill. You cannot run two regulators in series either.
One suggestion I have seen is to modify your tank hookup with a T before your regulator, the adapters may work.
I think I am going to wait for someone to have a grill sale and buy one is designed to work with an RV system.

We have a Camco Stainless Steel 5500 Bbq grill. It is low pressure so connects direct to lp port on the camper. We also have a Blackstone 22” griddle which is also low pressure and also connects to the lp port. You do need to purchase the quick connect adapter for the blackstone. I also purchased a triple quick connect so I can run three LP units at the same time. I also use a 19” Fire Pit with the adapters

I wonder if he ever found the right conversion parts for his grille?

The Coleman Roadtrip LXE 2-burner will not work with the port on my DRV. I’ve spent a small fortune on hoses, adapters, fittings, etc, including removing the regulator from the grill, and nothing works. The factory rep advised me that this grill is high pressure and will not work on any low pressure port. My DRV port is low pressure.

All RVs have low pressure gas distribution after the regulator.

Spend $31 on one one of these and a low pressure extension use and you should be good to go:

I thought about installing a converter and running a grill off the coach propane - but tank is on the opposite side of the rig from where we'll always setup the grill. Didn't want the expense of a hose that long, much less the hassle of storing and setting it up every time.

So I invested in a nice SS Cuisinart table-top grill that I can run off either 1-pound or 20-pound tanks. Large enough for our needs, and small enough to setup anywhere and easily store. Grill and a 20# tank fit nicely in one of the smaller basement doors on our rig. Been using this for about 16 months, and quite pleased with it.
