The new trend is - don't bother with the gas cap, drill, fill containers, then let the rest run all over the ground. You need a new fuel tank and the police don't care even with good recorded footage. Cutting fence locks, and all the rest. A friend has had his business trucks hit five times. He now parks all over the neighbor hood and not at his business. He was lucky that the fuel did not hit the storm drain. If it did, he would be in trouble with the EPA, both with cleanup and violating pollution laws. Would they prosecute him? He was told yes for repeated offense. The clean up would bankrupt him. He is responsible for preventing it from happening. So far only one truck has been hit in nine months in the neighborhood, but with the cost of fuel going up? Better to hang a sign "help yourself" with a siphon hose for them to use.
