The wife has the WeatherTech one that sits in a console cupholder. Maybe they make other styles, but I don't like the cupholder style for two reason: First and most obvious, it takes up a cupholder - and second, it's far too low, a safety issue requiring you to take eyes off the road to see a map, etc. I prefer to have any screen which requires more than a passing glance (like a map) to be closer to eye level. Just my 2¢ worth...

My understanding from this thread is a fellow users inquiry into what folks have found to be functional / durable while providing honest feedback, ideas or recommendations.
There is nothing wrong with using a WeatherTech phone holder, if that is what one choses to use. Why would one choose a WeatherTech phone holder over another option??? I'm not sure.
I use WeatherTech mats in our vehicles and I can give one a couple reasons why if one were to inquire.

Muscle memory lets you hit that phone just once.
Then it falls under the gas pedal.
And I haven't forgotten since.
I seldom have a screen, and never my phone, on that mount.
I think watching live radar during a tornado warning and chasing (away) through county/farm roads in DogBarf Arkansas, in the dark, like tornado warning type dark, was the last time I used that mount.

I couldn't imagine being near a tornado in the motorhome. I hope you had it at warp 9 leaving there

C[QUOTE=Bill Johnson;332532]I couldn't imagine being near a tornado in the motorhome. I hope you had it at warp 9 leaving there[/QUOTE
There was no way out of the storm corridor.
All we could do was watch the radar and jig around the cells as they showed up.
Now we keep waze(live reports on road closures/problems/flooding) and radar(live reports) and a police scanner(live reports and notice of road closures to be)on at all times. Twice on that trip we watched/heard them put the road barriers up right behind us.
We'll pull over when we're not comfortable but by then it's usually us and a semi or two left on the road.
Our last trip to nowhere we headed west into Idaho, see the weather that was getting really snowy anx really storm type dark, really quickly, checked the radar, got off on a ramp and headed east, us losing 190miles that day. We'd have been days down stuck in the snow had we not had that radar. The storm chased us from Idaho's east border all the way to Wisconsin.
We seldom know where we'll be on any day/week in our travels.

So you don't have the ultimate Bar in the garage, but you have a very nice set of bar stools and and table for drinks That has to be Duck Sealed Approved. I mean think about it, I could sit down in your garage with a nice seat and table and watch you work on our RVs all day as long as I got that the Duck's Topshelf Courvoisier bottle

Yes, I only have 3 cupholders within arms reach while driving, and to eradicate one drink holder just to keep track of where I an going makes absolutely no sense what so ever.
Very hard to believe you even asked this question
I am sorry Bob , but looking at the pictures of the Duck's bar is getting me a tad tipsy. Don't ever look at his bar and drive. But seriously which WeatherTech you recommending? I see nothing that the meets the criteria

Do you mean Dogpatch, Arkansas?
That was fictional city. Dogpatch USA was a theme park located in northwest Arkansas cities of Harrison and Jasper. It was based on the comic strip Li'l Abner, created by cartoonist Al Capp and set in a fictional village called Dogpatch.

Fairly certain if you properly clean the surface area where your new suction mount attaches and properly affix the adhesive circular disk (on case or phone), you will be pleased with its ability, durability and functionality.

My current stays on but it has dropped one or twice, primarily around cold weather. The Tacky Glue has a lot of potential uses, 6 months from now, I may wonder how I ever got along with out, but if my holder falls one the tacky glue will be used after I wash the holder clean.
I don't wireless charge right now; so if the case works and is strong; which I am just dying to see, I will be happy. If I need more strength and the magnet is not to thick, I may put magnet on back if the phone so maybe I could use a wireless charger?
Thanks very much for the help, I am encouraged with hope that this may work

Assuming this works, we need to be thinking about what kind of wax and polish we can put on the magnets, or do we just go with simple ceramic coating

DO NOT use wax of any kind! Magnets must ONLY be cleaned with the very finest alcohol... Courvoisier would be a great choice...

Nope. I meant dogbarf.
I usually use dog-thrower because it paints a good picture in your head.. Dogthrower is in sistermommy county.(sistermommy requires you get a pencil and do some math)
I went with dogbarf this time(and we really were in Arkansas) because, last week I said dog-thrower Ohio...and some here confuse easily.
If you're a lil' abner fan, the schmoos were always my favorite character.
I even know who fearless Fosdick and marryin' jones are.
(I'm an old guy. Sunday comics were the weekly pleasure.)
(In my head I'm 12)
And
I would love to have a part of my garage like that. Friendly, cozy, compact.
Mine is big and airy and really hard to get homey in it.
I wish mine were more comfortable. No one has ever said mine was cozy or comfortable or any 'friendly' thing about it. My cool stuff is VERY staged. Yours has cool stuff that seems to have just evolved into place.
I'll take a look at that bottle tomorrow. It might be older than Koldman.

i find myself taking naps on the couch often

I've learned to take naps in the RV..
Like yours it's inside its house and is very dark and quiet.
We have electric blankets on the beds.
Greatest naps ever.
