Broken Axxera Mount
My Axxerra AVM111 radio has a broken clip that holds the removable display. Apparently too many bad roads, the display is constantly popping off the radio. I called Axxera and there are no replacement backing plates available. Thier solution is a new $985.00 AVM111!
Can anyone direct me to where I can find a replacement backplate for this radio?

Thor was my first call. They will only sell the whole radio unit or the display (which does not have the backplate).

Fill the mount with hot glue and quickly position the screen where you want it.
The hotglue renews the mount.
Or
Donate it to a high school kid and get a different radio.

If the manufacturer doesn't sell the part, what makes you think anybody else would?
I think you have 3 choices:
McGyver an external clamp to hold the display in place
Replace the entire radio with a better quality unit for much less than $1000
Browse this forum, IRV2, and others for people that have replaced their AVM111 radio and ask them for the old radio.
Good Luck!

I couldn't give away my axxera.
Really. I finally told my handyman to put it in lost and found at the high-school.
Asking for one is a great idea.
I'll bet there's 500 of them dusty in a closet or at goodwill.

Same problem, that's not a replaceable part that broke it's the face of the unit, so glue it on or I zip tied mine on.

I would be happy to replace the Aexerra with a better unit. However, there are not many options available with built in GPS options. Many are out of stock (I guess due to chip shortages and supply line issues). I still like on board navigation since we don't have cell coverage in some areas we travel. Has anyone replaced thier Aexerra recently, if so, what model was it?

You must not be looking at the same Amazon I am. Any double-DIN radio will work; many are under $100:
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=double+di...&ref=sr_nr_n_5
An Android based radio can use Google Maps or any navigation App, just download offline maps before you start your trip.

10,000 of them on Amazon.
Really. 10,000
I like Eonon.
I needed some help on my 2006ish era Eonon.
It slides an 8 inch screen out like a cd, twists it 90 degrees, the lifts it 90 degrees.(that wasn't the problem and it still works in a VERY awful enviorment in a dedicated offroader.)
A GM loose wire was the problem with the screen.
I posted a video on YouTube, they watched and diagnosed the same day.
So
My recommendation is based on that.
I have a 10.1 inch android Eonon in the RV.
No matter what you buy, make sure it's Android.
A stereo/window tint place installed mine for $100

Axxera units use generic guts and firmware/software. There's a reason it broke... they're not built to withstand motorhome use.
I'd gift you mine, but it's being used as a video feed for my rearview mirror mounted monitor. Invest in a Garmin or other proven dedicated GPS unit. Use that in tandem with Google Maps. Much less frustrating...

Radio clip
I had the same problem last year on my 2020 Hurricane. No one I found sells that part. I'm a machinist, so I made a new one out of aluminum.
My suggestion is, take the unit out and take it apart. Then find you a good job shop.

And what would a job shop charge plus or minus for that part?
Just a ballpark within 300 or so percent.
Nothing we'll hold you to.

The unit is very easy to take apart and I found one piece in the face unit it self. Take both pieces to a shop for quote. Even thou it's a small part, I would guess between $100-$200.

I glued mine together no problem now, I have a 2019 challenger and 6 screws and dash top comes off and easy access to remove unit in 1 piece it pulls out of the front if needed.

Guest OP,
Never heard of a guest account. Could be a troll.
If not a troll, FYI no Axxera is worth even half of your $985 price tag. They are garbage radios.
