Shower Grab Bars

We have a new ACE 30.3. Just returned from our maiden voyage, dry camping. Learned a lot about a 12 V refrigerator without hookups. But mostly discovered that I need grab bars for the shower. There’s a significant step up to get in the shower. My husband and I aren’t young ( he’s 80 today!) and could use the security of something to hold onto. Anyone done this? Anyone have any idea what is or isn’t behind this plastic shower walls?

We are an older couple also. We have have the same floor plan. What I ended up with is new shower valve which makes a great hand hold. It is quite strong as the is a small 1/2" plywood backer-board behind the standoff. Some assembly required.

If you don't do what beau did, put the bar bolts THROUGH the wall and use a backer plate.
