Bug screens on challenger

I had bought the bug screens to cover the hot water heater and furnace but did not like that they sat external because it took away from the look of the RV. The solution for me was to measure and cut out the screen to mount internally. With some hand strength and some small clippers, I am pleased with the result. BTW, that steel mesh is hard to cut. Then used some of the wires I pulled out from trimming to wrap the wire in place.

I agree about screens not looking good. Well done, I like the way you did your screens, they look very neat and clean! Going to have to add this to my list! Great idea!

That looks like a great job. I have not used bug screens on our Challenger because they would scratch the paint. Must steal your design.

I finally got around to doing the bug screen mod. The water heater was easy, the furnace a little more difficult. The furnace required actually making two screen and then getting everything back together. RVnut, Thank You for the suggestion, much cleaner look, absolutely worth the time, much cleaner look!!!

That looks great. I have been looking for screens but haven't seen any our size. I guess I need to get the wire cutters out to make it look as good as yours. Thanks for sharing.

I had a large screen over the water heater held on with springs. I first used compound tin snips to cut the screen, then got out my dremel tool with a cutting wheel, much easier, that stainless is tough! The furnace screen was a small round one, not enough to do the two screens needed. I ordered another large water heater screen from Amazon which gave me enough material to make two screens for the furnace, inner and outer.
