bunk ladder storage
Okay, somebody on this forum showed a pic of a hanger he made that mounted to the left side indoor wall of his RV for storing a bunk ladder. I thought it was a great idea because not only did it get the ladder out of the way, but you could use it as a hand grip when entering the unit. Unfortunately, I didn't store the the thread, and now I can't find it! What I wanted to do was look to see what kind of latch was used to fasten the ladder to make it easy to remove and replace. Anybody out there that can give me a hand?

But the hand rail to enter is on the left.

You right, mine is also. It is however a tad too far out to act as an aid to stepping up into the unit, in my opinion. Also, my rig doesn't have that panel on the right like yours does. I'll have to keep searching thru posts until I find the pic I'm looking for. I know it's in here.

That is a real good use of some space that might otherwise just be wasted...

I have a Chateau 24F, and put our ladder just like the pic shows... no clamps or straps though. I think my ladder is a tad shorter, because it's top hooks fit snugly over the vinyl pad.

I loosened the hook ends enough for them to turn a bit, I turn them flat in line with the ladder, a 90° turn, then I lay it on the bunk.
Out of the way, I only need it when I need the bunk.

I think I hit on the solution. It's almost done, and when I mount it in the unit I'll take a pic. Any unique instructions as to how to post a photo on this forum?

My ladder when not in use lays on the top of the bunk & has built in Velcro straps that keep it tightly in place & prevents it from sliding around

That's a nice install, but why not just lay it on the bed?

I just got sick of wrestling with it to make the bed, and it usually ended up just hanging off the overhead and in general, being in the way. Besides, I repurposed it as a grab bar when entering.

On our Ace 29.3 it stores behind the couch. Clips built into the wall.

I permanently installed the brackets the ladder hooks into just behind the driver's seat. Cut the ladder a bit shorter so that it's more vertical, and it just lives there full time, in place and ready to use.
