A/C is very loud

The A/C in my Thor Class C which is a former rental RV is really loud. It has no fan speed control which seems odd to me. It is either running full blast or it's off. Once it gets cooled off inside it would be great if I could turn down the fan speed to medium or low. Is this normal or do most RV A/Cs have a fan speed control. Would it be possible to add a fan control to this type of A/C?

The only fan speed controls other RV's have is "obnoxiously loud hi" or "ear-splitting loud low" take your pick.

RV A/C's are loud..period.

I guess it depends on what you feel is loud, ours isn’t much louder then a regular box fan. It does only have high and low settings

You should have a HI and a LOW setting.

But the Low is like 90% of the high fan speed. So its like HI 1 and HI 2 settings.

But if your having to yell to talk to someone right next to you perhaps something is wrong with your. Go do your local RV dealer ship and have them fire up one on the lot simular to yours and see what it sounds like. Or if you have a neighbor with an RV ask him to crank it up.

Check behind your thermostat for a loose wire for your low setting. Mine was loose and did not work at first.

Loud A/C

I just had my 2018 Thor Gemini 24TX recently serviced. Being one of my complaints, ye tech put a thin layer inside the A/C behind the outlet grill. It reduce the noise a bit..but better than before.
