Cabinet Door Hardware

I’m throwing this one out there to see if this is a trend...
Are your cabinet door pull handles installed distant from the door catches? On my 2017 Miramar 34.1 this was the case. The problem with this is that the longer cabinet doors will flex somewhat when you’re opening them as well as not closing as tightly. This especially becomes problematic when you flex a cabinet door that has a mirror or glass insert. Well I went through our Coach and removed and reinstalled the door catches to be as close as possible to the door pulls. It makes a big difference in the functionality of the cabinet doors. It would be interesting to find out if our cabinet hardware installation is the exception and not the rule. Happy RVing!Click image for larger version

I had a same problem - Esp the one under the sink in the kitchen. So I just removed the lower one (Away from the pull) and the top one holds the door closed just fine.

Great idea, I have had issues with the same mirrored cabinets over the kitchen sink. Next time I am over to the storage area I will have to move the catches.

I think the doors are made in one plant and the cabinets in the other and they call each other and play "guess where I installed the catch today". I had one in the BR that latched on the side of the catch. Had to readjust 5 of them out front. AND...why do they put the pull handle at the bottom of the long doors in the bath and the catch at the top?? You open cabinet and the entire door flexes before "pops" it opens. I moved those also.

That’s exactly what I was referring to. There are more like that throughout the motorhome. The catch needs to be as close as possible to where the door pull is.
