We have the class C 2018 24F and would like to change the dinette. They told us we can't because under the benches on one side is the hot water tank and the other are pipes. But I can't find out from anybody if we want to put a sofa recliner (small) if the weight of the sofa would be too much for the benches. In other words, take out the pads and put a piece of board down and then 2 recliners or a sofa recliner. We would have a slight step up but not bad. That dinette if extremely uncomfortable....and we don't need extra sleeping space. Has anyone done this?

You're RIGHT about the dinette being UNCOMFORTABLE!

Looks like it might be doable, but A LOT of work!

The biggest problem is the hot water heater.
Pull the pad then the board to get a good idea of what you're up against.

Look online for the measurements for a tankless water heater then get the measurements for wall huggers.

The water pipes could be rerun after the install.

Have you thought about leaving the front bench and installing 1 recliner, get the adapters to turn the driving chairs or one of these, very comfy.

Welcome to the forum!
And I agree: take a look at a tankless hot water system.
We've got one in our rig: it has it's own "pecularities" ; but it might just be a viable option for you!
