Safe-T-Plus install
Took the coach in today for the alignment $185.00. Being that I just got the Safetplus I asked if they would do the install also? When all was done they charged me 399.00 total and that included 7.00 for shop fees (something that I think is part of doing business).
If I thought it was going to be 200 for the install, I would have done it myself before I took it to them. Lesson learned.

safe t
$399 is a ok price, adjusting the safe t with a road test can take some time and fussing.

I agree its not a terrible price for the install. The 29m sits pretty low to the ground and wound be a tough install without the proper tools. If you have a ramp to drive up on to raise the front end and an impact wrench then its a lot.
Ive install one on a Fleetwood and it was easy but i woudnt do it on a Thor.

I installed one on my class C in my driveway in under an hour. Road testing took another hour or so (took me 4 try's to get it spot on, but I'm particular). I'd say anyone comfortable doing an oil change could handle it. On the Ford chassis you need some good metric sockets.

It took me longer to get the ramps out and round up all the tools than the actual install did. I'm still trying to fine-tune the thing. All of our roads are crowned so I haven't been able to get it "spot on".

Having ramps is a must, but i dont have a set. With ramps its,an easy install.
The key to the install is get the front tires as straight as possible. We did this on the fleetwood and after ibstall ne adjustments were needed. It tracked straight

I built my ramps out of 2x12's and lag screws. That allowed me to tailor the length and height to the Axis. They're heavy, but they work perfectly.
I'm thinking about taking the ramps and heading to a large parking lot where I can get it perfectly straight, then drive up the ramps and adjust the stabilizer that way.

I did the Challenger in the driveway. Made the ramps with 2 x 10s cut to 4, 3 and 2 feet. Stacked and screwed with deck screws. Drove the coach back and forth a couple times to straighten the wheels and then up the ramps.
Hardest part was getting the nuts off the spring u-bolts and then torquing them to 270 ft lbs while lying on your back in a confined space. 3 foot cheater on the torque wrench handled the issue well.
Note for anyone doing this themselves, check the torque after driving some to verify the nuts do not loosen. Axis/Vegas may be a different install on the E series than what is done on the F53.

I installed the Roadmaster version on the passenger side of our ACE 27.1, it has a front track bar in about one hour. Took two stops to adjust that are included in the hour. Lots of room underneath, when I put the passenger side on the curb.

$399 is cheap. I just purchased a 2018 challenger 37yt and added safety plus, sumo shocks, heavy duty front and rear stabilizers, snap pads, dish in motion satellite,W/D and more $18,000 ouch.
So far all is great.

I do, and better yet my wife thinks it's safe now.
When we first took it down the road we were thinking our lives could end at any moment. I was exhausted from the trip, needed a beer and a nap. ( I don't drink)
And the drive was only 70 miles. Lol
I'm in a better place now, leaving from Michigan to Darlington on the 28th. No worries ! Lol

Keep in mind that you don't just slap in on and you're done. It requires road testing on level road and possible multiple adjustments. I paid approximately $200 and thought it was a fair price. I was very pleased with results.

I was lucky, I had the safe T steer put on when they did the alignment and it ran straight as an arrow.
One finger driving now. Couldn't even think of that before.

Are ramps necessary for the Safe T Plus install and/or the CHF? I've hired a mobile RV service guy to do both on my Challenger, he hasn't got a shop so it'll be done in my yard.

Can the initial installation be done without impact wrench?
