You forget one important fact, me and the issues don't use the over cab bunk, we use the king sized master bed and our cats use the over cab for a perch. Now, do our three cats combined, which don't need the ladder to access the bunk, weight 750 pounds? We'll let any intruders answer that question.

We remember a 500lb limit and the ladder having a 250lb limit. Looking for a picture of the sticker now. Will post when/if I find it.

I appreciate it, but my sticker says it is a one person bed (the ones with heavier limits say two) and Thor confirmed that this is correct via email.

I suppose that you have a decision to make:
Do you buy a tent for your visitors, or do you modify the structure for the heavier load?

(Or do you put them on a serious diet? )

In "their" defense, 250 pounds split between two people wouldn't even sleep me and my wife, and we are very in shape people who are not overly tall.

I believe my plan will be to modify/reinforce once our two-year warranty period is up next year.

I think that you've got a pretty good start on your research for this project already; please let us know what you do, and how it works.
Good luck!

You would think for the size of the overhead', it would be actually designed for 2 adults... or offer a shorter length overhead... BUT, if its for the kiddos', it works....

At times we will have my Sister/Brother-in-law on trips with us, and it would have been a nicer setup if they could have used a single large sleeping spot...

Ahhh missed this above on my firsts read... For myself, this sounds like good news as we ordered a 2022, so there's a chance it would be a higher weight rating... maybe...

Don't they call those "tents"?

LOL Ohhhh the bad memories (not really)... We started camping together in tents back in 90s... then once at a PA campground, a massive downpour followed by a flashflood.. we all had 2ft of water running through our tents, and other tents and everything were floating in the lake... That's when the RVing' thing kicked...

Started with a juge' 11.5ft 09' truck camper... then to the 30ft 01' leprechaun... and now we are here...

anyway... the sis/bro-IL went the boat route.. HMmm I can tow the boat

We started camping back in the 60's...
(With my folks! )
I also remember some epic storms; that overwhelmed our best trenching efforts around our tent.
Once of them happened during the Apollo 11 moonshot. we came home that day to watch the lunar lending...

.... and get some dry clothes!

It brings back my thoughts of those backpacking days sleeping inside a very compact one person tent and trenching around it to try and stay dry. Now look at me, inside a motor home enjoying it.

In the 80s and 90s we’d be camping in our tent or pop-up and we’d always sort of chuckle at the blue haired retirees with the big motorhomes and the little lap dogs....and now we are them!

I think that standing in front of a mirror; takes true guts now...

Sometimes it’s more fun to share stories around the campfire than it is to be always solving problems or fussing about how things really ought to be!
