Weekend Project - Undercarriage LED

Installing under carriage LED Rock Lights this weekend. Anyone else do this on their Class C/A?

I put the controller in the battery bay. Will be putting the pucks in this afternoon.

This is the kit I bought. I did get some extensions since my C is 33ft long.

Got all 8 lights installed. I used zip ties and creative wire routing to get it done. I’ll add a photo of it at night this evening.

I just did white LED strip lighting. I also replaced front incandescent turn signal bulbs with LEDs

Have seen some 5th wheels and Newmar A with lights under. Looks nice at night. Hey: you ever stationed at 29Palms? I was a corpsman with 175 and 3rd tanks. I still don't eat apricots.... just in case.

HAHAHA!!! I was never formally stationed there. Was there a lot for CAX and went to Comm School there in 97 and again for advanced course in 02/03…. I hated that place.

We camp at some places that are VERY dark at night. We wanted a little extra light without being “too much” for the dog at night. We don’t do anything unless it’s better for our dog!

Also….because I can.

USMARINENCO, Off topic post.
I see you have the chevy chassis. I have that too. What kind of mileage do you get? I get 8.5mpg average.
I was told by two dealers to expect 9-12mpg.
Thanks,
JC

I’m actually on the Ford E-450 chassis. If we don’t have our Toad I believe I’m getting around 8.5-9. When we have the Ford Ranger behind us I’m averaging 7.5 or so.

I install three sets of 12 V color changing LEDs. none of them lasted longer than six months. then I got LED rope lights from Minard’s 120 V, installed those, not a problem since - only white but they keep working. Plug them in at outside kitchen- very convenient.

The theory is that the critters feel vulnerable to predators when they get into the light at night, so avoid the light. Not sure if that is true, but that is one reason "why". The other reason I guess, is it is your RV and you should be able to do with it what you want.

I saw underglow lights installed on 2 Tiffin busses and they look so nice and elegant. Mine Axis is not a Tiffin but at night the coach looks sharp. And, last weekend we arrived at the RV Park very late when was dark. I turned the underglow lights on and was able to completely setup my motorhome without using any flashlights. This was so easy and with ample lighting around the coach. I never thought the underglow lights will serve me that way as well. I purchased the lights from:
https://www.boogeylights.com/under-g...hoCiwIQAvD_BwE

Here is another answer to...why? After modifying our motorhome with Sumo, Hellwig, Billstein, Roadmaster and installing many other upgrades I wanted do something for myself and...for fun. [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]Click image for larger version

I consider undercarriage lights like awning lights. They should be turned off after 10PM, especially if campers are in close proximity. JimC

Awning light are really bright. String lights are not and I dim them late at night so when I have to tale the dogs out at two or three AM I do not have to use the awning lights. The door light is worthless.
