Coleman 15 VS Dometic Brisk Air II for 2nd AC

I couldn't find a good comparison when searching so wanted to see what the communities opinion was. My main ac is a Coleman 15k btu and works well. The Brisk II is lighter, cheaper and has decent reviews online though. Either would be no ducted with no wall thermostat so those features don't factor in.

Can anyone share thoughts, good or bad?

The brisk is 15k btu as well. The main selling point for it is that it looks like it will be a few hundred cheaper.

Look at their profiles, higher is better (except maybe for overhead branch catching). Why? Higher generally means more space for a larger, more efficient and quieter fan and more space for direct ducting which means more air and less noise.

I have the Coleman 15K A/C on my MH and it is definitely quieter than the Coleman low profile 13.5K unit I had on my previous RV.

DId not know that and being in the bedroom quieter would be better.

But for adding a 2nd AC, as being discussed on other threads…
- the low profile 13.5 may make sense for wiring purposes

That is, assuming that the main 15.0 AC is on a 30amp circuit, then it’s simplest to wire the 13.5 AC as a separate circuit and plug directly into the 20amp outlet at the pedestal.

And assuming that it’s an Onan 4000 watt genny, then you would never run both off genny (won’t work without major mods + soft starts on both).

I do plan to power it off the 20 amp on the pedestal on its own circuit.

I power my 30amp with a 15K AC off of a 20amp plug from time to time. And I don’t have soft-start.

But when running an AC off of 20amp (even if it’s your suggested stand-alone 13.5 AC on it’s own circuit) suggest you use a 10 gauge heavy duty extension cord from RV to pedestal
