Rear View mirror on Class A's

Has anyone installed a rear view mirror on the windshield of their class A motorhomes? I would like to be able to see what the girls are doing while driving and have not been able to find one I like (Big enough).

On my prior coach I used a boat windshield mountable ski mirror so I could keep an eye on the dogs while we were rolling. That rig had the rear view mirror replaced with the backup camera monitor.

I didn't mount it to the windshield but modified a mount so that it connected to the overhead bunk.

I used a mirror similar to this

Gladiator Tournament-Style Boat Mirror - Overton's

On my Class A, due to the depth of the dash board and the distance from the seats to the windshield I believe a mirror would be useless unless it was in some manner mounted closer to the driver's or passenger's seats and not on the windshield.

I having been thinking about mounting a mirror on a swing or telescoping arm to the lower side of the over dash cabinets or to the overhead bunk just so I can investigate which cabinet my wife left open when we roll away from a rest stop.

How about one of those overhead mirrors like they have on school buses?
Maybe a golf cart review mirror?

Thanks guys, Dave, I laughed at your last paragraph. Mine is the pantry that I installed a locking mechanism on, which only works if it gets put back in place after a stop. LOL

blw2....I purchased one of the for $29.99 but have been struggling with a place to mount it so it works and looks somewhat aesthetically pleasing - the black rubber trim stands out like a sore thumb.

I have been looking at the golf cart mirrors like you suggested Dave but will have to modify the bracket. Thanks again guys for your suggestions!

Used this mirror. Installed on the passenger side under the overhead cabinet. Most of the time the coach is too dark to easily see what's going on in the back, but it does work and am glad I installed it.

My E-450 class c came with a regular rear view on the windshield. I use it quite a bit to help me feel less disconnected from the family
but it is a bit hard to see, mostly in my case because the field of view is just too narrow.

I used a small round convex mirror on the dash of my last motor home. It was self stick, about 2 inches, and with it, I could see if passengers were sitting or standing.
This would be clear enough for pets, but likely not enough to check on kids!

A while ago I was looking at the specs. for our 2015 Windsport 27K and saw that they advertise the mirrored doors on the small overhead cabinets under and forward of the cabin bed as rear view mirrors. Maybe they work for some size drivers, but so far than only value I get from them is that in combination with the big mirror on the bathroom wall over the end of the dinette seat, I can see the back of my head and get a partial view of the road ahead. Actually not very useful, but marginally entertaining.

Oh you are talking about the "Conversation mirrors"!!!!! They are on my Hurricane and are great for conversing with yourself - like you stated - only see the top of your head!

I ended up using this golf cart mirror - works great!

Ah, so that's what they are. Pretty useless. When I was teaching driver education, I had a rear view mirror with suction cups attached to the top of the windshield on the passenger side. As someone in a previous post said, a rear view mirror is nice to have to see opened cabinet doors. Also for loose cargo rolling around in the back.
