Dash Cam

We have dash cams in our vehicles. Have a great video of someone rear ending the Mrs. car.

Want one for the RV but am having problems finding someone that will install it.

Went to Best Buy. "Yes, we can. Wait, no we can't." etc. Obviously, they have zero experience in putting them in an RV.

Any suggestions?

I don't understand the problem. 99% of dash cams just suction cup to the windshield or provided plate with 2 sided tape. Why is a MH different?

Same conversation I had with Best Buy.

"We don't install in vehicles that big"

"You never asked me the size of our RV"

"Oh"

Shouldn't be this hard.

How does a dash camera catch images of a rear end collision? I will be installing a camera on my coach windshield this week. I chose one without a screen because it’s too far away to see clearly anyway. I don’t see why you can’t do it yourself. It’s just a suction cup and a wire to an outlet.

Our Rexing V1P stays in our Rubicon until it's towed. The kit came with two windshield mounts, a cigar power harness along with a hard-wire kit. I recently hard-wired the Rubicon so I could use the cigar cord in the MH.

We transfer the camera to the Aria when hitting the road; unfortunately the rear camera wiring is only 18 feet long-too short to work in our MH. The V1P captures everything in front, corner to corner as soon as one passes on either side. There is also an optional GPS attachment available.

I'd bet there's a way to wire one to record from your rear MH camera but have not pursued this possibility.

I too have the Rexing V1P dash camera and use the same camera in my camaro and motor home. I emailed Rexing to request to purchase a 2nd cigarette lighter power cord and they sent me the power cord for free once I emailed a photo of my dash camera set up inside my car. I explained to them I wanted to use the camera inside both vehicles. Their customer service was great. I just remove the camera from the car and put it inside the motor home. The unit does come with two windshield camera mounts in the box. The power cord is easy to hide under the door molding and under the headliner along the windshield.

I use a $99 Garmin mini dash cam. It’ll work just fine on a vertical windshield. It just sticks on and plugs in then pairs to your phone.

I have front and rear

I use Thinkware because the desert heat doesn’t kill them. I have a front that plugs into a lighter port. I have a rear that also plugs into a lighter so I got an ac to lighter plug adapter $15 that stays in an inverter plug in the back of the coach. They don’t communicate with each other but will work on their app or if something happens they have a micro add card.

The garmin RV gps comes with a dash cam. That’s what we did.

About 6 months ago I decided that I wanted to have a dash cam "just in case", but all I did was find an old Android smartphone I was no longer using, download a free dash cam app and buy a phone holder for the dash. I plug it in before we start on a trip, turn the dash cam app on and position the phone holder on the dashboard. Total cost - about $20 for the holder, and I just download the files when we return from a trip.

No install issues, no warranty issues and no battery issues.

Does your MH have a rear window? If yes most dash camera comes with suction cup.

I use the Cobra 2208 Dash Cam in whichever vehicle is being driven, Coach or Colorado. It has a form of lane departure and collision warning and links with Cobra's I Radar app. Suction mount works well on both vehicles.
