Dash radio upgrade pics and info

Howdy,
Been reading through many posts

Request:
Can you please post a Pic of your Dash Radio upgrade (you know, got rid of Axxera and went with this).
Give the model
What do you like and or dislike about your upgrade

And most impotently
Can you still get the rear camera view on the upgrades screen

Thank you in advance
Bradley

Here ya go - in our SOB (Jayco Precept) I just replaced the Soundstream head unit with this Joying 10.1 1280x800p: https://www.joyingauto.com/joying-la...00-screen.html

So far, I'm impressed - cameras work as they should, but haven't found the switch to turn on rear camera while driving. Working on it...

Hi, I’m installing a 10” JVC kwz1000....my ACE 29.3 cameras are routed through a Thor installed multiplex box....3 camera line in via DIN 5 pin...and one RCA cable out to what was an Axxxera unit.....now my receiver has four video lines in.....if your setup was similar, how did you route and power your cameras?…thanks

Dual Electronics DMCPA11BT

I just replaced the Axxera with a Dual Electronics DMCPA11BT in my 2018 Axis 24.1. Pretty sure it’s the unit in the 2021 Axis.

I also replaced the USB/HDMI jack with a single USB-3 capable jack, for Apple CarPlay.

Unrelated, my 12volt outlet was never connected to anything, but I found the wires during the radio swap and connected them. I plugged in a 2-port USB charger. I thought about replacing the 12volt outlet with a dual USB outlet, but I occasionally need to plug in a 12volt device.

Looks like a nice radio
It mentions only the rear view camera
Does the box in the dash with rear and side cameras plug into the rear camear RCA on the radio
If so, how well does the transitioning work?

Thank you for the information
Bradley

Yes, it has one RCA video-in plug and the video switcher provides the signal from the appropriate camera. The transition works well. The one thing it might not do is the “always on” backup camera feature. I know some people like to use that feature of the Axxera like a rear view mirror. I haven’t taken the time to see if the Dual has that capability.

Thanks..I’m in the middle of installing a JVC kwz1000

This unit has 4 separate camera inputs....rightly or wrongly I have bypassed the switcher/multiplex and directly connected the camera lines to the unit using a 5pin DIN to rca jack cable....Unit has a CAM power line but its not working....

Any insights would be appreciated

Why you bypassed a simple one plug connection from the control box in favor of four plugs and a camera power wire?
Switch it back to the box and see if it all works.
