Dash stereo/camera monitor

Has anyone replaced their in dash stereo? I have a Windsport 29M and would like to replace the stereo/monitor and speakers with something more substantial. I would also like to add a monitor to the top of the dashboard instead of having to look downwards.

Haven't seen anything yet on the forum about a replacement for the dash radio/monitor. I don't know what you have, but my Jenson JRV212T is a piece of crap. The touch screen seems to be 1980's technology.

There is quite a bit of posts about installing a monitor on the "Jerry's Hurricane mods" thread. Its a very long thread, but this post might get you in the general area of the thread

I've got the perfect solution for you!!! Several of us have mounted a 9" dash monitor from https://www.rearviewsafety.com The monitor from here has the exact same connections as on your coach, is easy to install and only requires cutting and splicing a few wires that are easy to get to. I did not connect the trigger wires for the side cameras, just for the rear. Using the monitor we chose you can view all three cameras at the sam time or in numerous different combinations.

Go to Modifications and updates, Jerry's Hurricane mods, the camera mods start somewhere around page 90 something. You'll find pictures, mounting options, and color coding of the wires you need to splice.

Hope this helps and if you need help I'll be happy to walk you through the install, it only took me about 30-40 minutes start to finish.

One of the best mods I have done to date, I now have a nice big clear view of my cameras in an easy to view location!

I still think it would be cool to install a Car PC in the spot for the dash radio:

They can get kind of pricey, however.

Looks pretty cool, but as you said, it's pricey!!! Wonder how much a person could or would really use this in an RV.

SuperD, Which model number did you buy? All the mounts look different than yours.

I got the 9" quad view monitor but elected to use a Ram suction mount rather than the factory screw down mount. I bought the Ram suction base and an adhesive 90mm disc to put on the dash. I got the mount and disc from Amazon, works great!
