We posted on another feed a month or so ago,
our deterrent to Wasps/Mud Dabbers building nests
in a/c units/heater & refrig vents, etc.
Today, we found a wasp headed through the grill
into the motor compartment.
SO...we are re-posting a way to deter these guys
from your coach/motorhome/trailer. Purchase Cow Ear Tags which are penetrated with bug repellent.
They can be found at any farm supply store and are in
a bag of 25 for less then $20. We share them with our RV friends.
Hang one of these in any compartment where a wasp might be
able to enter.
Ron hung 2 in the motor compartment about 5 minutes ago.
(we had never had any invade that area before) These DO work...we have been using them for a number of years.
that's all I got for today ! Happy Camping !!

These guys get in anywhere. I spent the money to get the screens for the heater, fridge and water heater. The other day I see wasps going in the small slot where the water heater door latch goes. When I carefully opened that door I had a huge nest with 20 or 30 wasps hanging on. That night I knocked it off with a long stick and ran. Later I went back and closed the door and put tape over the slot but they kept coming back and trying to get in for several days. I may need to try these tags.
Just made a note to pick up a bag. Are they metal or plastic?

Joe...they are plastic ... we get them at a farm supply ...
bag of 25 ... definately worth the approx $20 for them !
Make sure they are the treated tags for cattle...to keep flies, etc. away.
