DIY Windshield Shade like Magne Shade

Has anyone here made their own version of a front windshield Magne Shade? I am convinced that the Magne Shade is the best option that is commercially available but I'm not willing to spend the money at this point. The other options that require drilling and/or snapping don't appeal to me. Making the fabric isn't too much of a challenge for me. I'm specifically interested in whether anyone has made their own windshield shade utilizing magnets and is willing to share the details? If not magnetic attachment, any other successful projects utilizing other methods? Thanks.
